Reports: ByteDance-backed TikTok Crawls to Enter Smartphone Space

TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, reportedly plans to launch its own smartphone.The smartphone is believed to be packed with various apps founded by the company.

According toFinancial Times (FT), the company has not revealed any new developments regarding the matter.  Although it’s learned that the smartphone would be designed exclusively for the subscribers that use the apps of the company. In other words, the smartphone will have pre-installed apps, as mentioned above.

A different report by FT suggests that the smartphone will be equipped with the entire suite of the company’s consumer apps pre-installed on it. The smartphone is also likely to be packed with features that are geared around the TikTok app.

As mentioned above, the smartphone is likely to be a budget-friendly sincethe majority of the people who use TikTok are young and they may not invest in some costly phone.

The company has inked a deal with Smartisan, a Tech company in China to obtain the patent portfolio and hire some of its workers. The move by ByteDance may help them to manufacture their own smartphone fast. But, it’s still unclear whether people or TikTok fans would invest in a smartphone like this because the app is supported in iOS and Android devices.

The company has also produced a Chinese version of TikTok known as Douyin. The app runs on a different network because China has strict censorship laws.
