Are you a PUBG fan? Have you been waiting for too long for the mobile version of PUBG? Then, your wait is finally coming to an end. The world’s hottest video game of the year, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is all set to conquer the mobile gaming space.

Yesterday, the Chinese tech giant, Tencent has finally made the announcement that the development of the official mobile version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is under process. The game is being developed in collaboration with the South Korean developer, Bluehole.

PUBG has sold more than 20 million copies globally till date making it the hottest video game of the year. Moreover, it has set a record on Steam having nearly 20 million players online simultaneously. The entire concept of the game matches the plot of The Hunger Games where players are parachuted onto an island to scavenge for weapons and fight each other until only one player remains.

The tech giant whose portfolio includes China’s most popular social network WeChat, Tencent has made the announcement a week after it had won the exclusive rights to publish and distribute the game in China. Tencent had secured the two deals despite an earlier notice from Chinese media Watchdogs that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and similar survival games are too bloody and violent for sale in the country and might not get a license in China.

According to Tencent, the mobile version of PUBG will retain the core gameplay of the original PC game, but it will also strictly follow the relevant policies and regulations, just like the PC version. Though the release date has not been decided yet, the mobile game will be first released in China.
