ByteDance appears to have acquired Jukedeck, the UK based startup

ByteDance appears to have acquired Jukedeck, the UK based startup
The Silicon Review
24 July, 2019

The parent company of the famous App—TikTok seems to have acquired a trailblazing UK based start-up, Jukedeck. The start-up builds technology which uses AI to create music including the caliber to analyze video and automatically set music to it.

The app also lets users set or adjust the length, tempo, and where it climaxed.

The acquisition was noticed when Ed Newton-Rex, the founder and CEO of Jukedeck, changed his profile on LinkedIn to “working for China’s ByteDance as director of its AI lab”. Further, a lot of other employees also changed their LinkedIn profile. Also, Jukedeck’s website is now offline, with a message saying “We can’t tell you more just yet, but we’re looking forward to continuing to fuel creativity using musical AI!”

The London based Jukedeck can be a massive help to TikTok. The famous media App has to pay for all the music on its platform. So more free tracks the less the TikTok has to worry about the records or royalty.
