LinkedIn like Platform launched by Girlboss CEO
The Silicon Review
04 July, 2019

Girlboss, a media company based in America, has rolled out a similar platform like LinkedIn, CNN Business reported. The brainchild behind the new venture is the company’s CEO and Nasty Gal founder, Amoruso. The new networking platform’s goal is to connect“ambitious” women.

According to the company’s website, the platform is known as Girlboss professional network. The platform will connect women entrepreneurs, freelancers, and creative to gig-economy workers; where they can share ideas, ask questions, etc. The members can also connect to prominent members such as Arianna Huffington, Beth Comstock, and Bozoma St. John. The prominent names will conduct a session called “ask me anything”.

The platform also has a message board. Members can rip the benefits of the message board by carrying out group talks and private messaging for striking up talks with other members. Reports suggest that the startup has raised $3.5million in funding led by Initialized Capital last year.

Nasty Gal is an online clothing store. The platform was incorporated in 2006. Amoruso‘s business was successful since the launch. In late 2016, Girlboss startup filed for bankruptcy protection and some share of the online clothing store were sold to a British fashion company, Boohoo.com.

“This is a place where honesty is mandatory and the commitment of everyone within the community is to learn, grow, and help one another”, Amoruso was quoted as saying in an introductory post.

The new platform is now available on the web as an app and on the company’s official website as well. The mobile version of the platform will be out soon.
