Oracle acquires Brazilian firm Oxygen Systems in order to grow its SME market share in the country

Oracle has made an announcement that it has acquired a Brazilian firm Oxygen Systems. Oxygen Systems was founded in 2017 as a subsidiary of Sonda, a Chilean IT integrator.  The company aims at the localization of the systems offering under Oracle’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) model.

A significant percent of the company’s business is represented by SMEs and over the last few years, it has been concentrated on expanding in that space. The idea of such acquisition is to help the smaller business flourish and grow the company’s SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) market share in the country.The acquisition will help Oracle deliver a seamless ERP localization experience in Brazil and strengthen its NetSuite support for customers globally.

SME clients of the company are most likely to choose its cloud offering which has been promoted by the Netsuite portfolio since 2017. Oracle (Brazil) PresidentRodrigo Galvão believes that improving the firm’s popularity among small-to-medium businesses is important for the company’s growth.

"All transitions take time, as do customer references and projects that reflect on the bottomline," Galvão said last year."But I believe that we will soon be better positioned due to the robust way we are organized in terms of capability we can offer to these companies and the fact we have been building an ecosystem around the SME segmentas well as specialized manpower," he added.
