Live Planet, a California-based media company, intends to roll out a blockchain-based VR network soon, Cointelegraph reported. The network, dubbed as the Blockchain Virtual Reality Network is designed to host cryptocurrencies and other blockchain related contents.

The company addressed Cointelegraph about the launch plans in a press release on Thursday where it said that the network will be the first of its kind. VideoCoin Network technology is powering the new network.

The man behind the new development is Hanno Basse, former CTO at Film Company, 20th Century Fox, as reported by Cointelegraph. Mr Basse was given the position of the president (decentralized media division) while joining the company. It is believed that Mr Basse had planned the launch earlier including publishing services.

Live Planet says that launch will allow blockchain-related content creators to use Live Planet VR System, a 360 stereoscopic video service. It will help in streaming and recording contents. In addition to it, platforms such as Samsung VR, Oculus, etc will get streaming services from the network.

As mentioned in the press release, the company has a number of partners already under its belt. The companies include names such as Crypto Trader, YEN.io, BLOCKTV, Bad Crypto Podcast, Decentralised Films, Boxmining, and CoinCentral.  These companies have content creators involved in podcast production, TV shows, and news coverage.

The new launch is a big boost for Live Plan as it is one of the fastest-growing companies in America.
