Death toll related to vaping continues to be on the rise

Death toll related to vaping continues to be on the rise
The Silicon Review
11 September, 2019

In a recent incident in Kansas, a death was found to be related to lung disease caused by e-cigarettes and vaping. As the death toll continues to rise, there have been studies conducted and a close link has been found between vaping and lung disease. This is due to the presence of a chemical called vitamin E acetate which has been found in toxic levels in e-cigarettes and other vaping devices. Efforts are being made by the FDA to cut down the availability of these devices to youth. In a recent warning, they made a request to the non-tobacco using population to not fall prey to these products.

"To combat the epidemic rise in youth use of e-cigarettes, we're aggressively enforcing the law and investing in campaigns to educate youth about the dangers of e-cigarette use. We have consistently said that if the disturbing rise in youth e-cigarette use continues, especially through the use of flavours that appeal to kids, we'll take even more aggressive action. We will do what's necessary to end the youth e-cigarette epidemic." was the statement that has been received from a FDA spokesperson.

They have also given a warning letter to Juul, an e-cigarette company, to check its products and adhere to the federal health guidelines after a recent investigation. Constant warnings are also being issued by the FDA asking vapers to get their lungs checked up to prevent any life-threatening damage.
