Any support, big or small, matters a lot in such situation. Many retail giants are coming forward to support the economy and the people as much as they can. With this said, the famous retail company Ikea, its U.S. business is donating more than $1.6 million in products and supplies to assist relief efforts and help people impacted by COVID-19.

This humble donation by Ikea Retail U.S. is part of a global 26-million euro grant of in-kind donations by the Swedish home furnishings giant. “At Ikea, we are guided by a simple, yet powerful vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people,” Javier Quiñones, president and chief sustainability officer of Ikea Retail U.S., said in a release. “No matter how challenging times are, we are always committed to being a good neighbor and demonstrating commitment to local communities.”

To identify critical needs during the pandemic, the company has worked with partners and local government agencies. It is donating items such as blankets, bedding and storage products for blood drives and temporary hospitals and shelters. The company also recently donated more than 30,000 N-95 masks from its operation to local medical organizations and medical workers.
