Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, expressed outrage at the incidents, describing them as "heartbreaking" and "unnecessary."

Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins was taken into custody by police on Sunday on his journey to the team's season opener because of a traffic violation. After being pulled over for speeding, Hill was shown on camera being handcuffed and lying face down next to his sports car. The incident was shared on social media.

Within hours of his arrest, Hill returned to the Jacksonville Jaguars game. When he celebrated an 80-yard touchdown, he appeared to make reference to the incident by pretending to be handcuffed. Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, expressed outrage at the incidents, describing them as "heartbreaking" and "unnecessary," while Miami-Dade Police Director Stephanie V. Daniels said the agency is investigating the event and body camera footage. One participating officer has been put on administrative leave as the investigation is ongoing. Hill, who has become as one of the NFL's best receivers since joining the team in 2016, expressed surprise at his arrest following the game and said that he believed that his fame may have influenced the way things were handled. During the encounter, he stated his compliance but expressed concerns about what may happen if he were not a well-known figure.

Hill remains focused on the season following the incident. In 2022, he signed a four-year, $120 million contract with the Dolphins. The Miami-Dade Police Department is expected to offer more details about the incident.
