siliconreview Nvidia’s Popular GTX 1060 Line Gets GDDR5X

Known for providing the best gaming experience, the leading graphics card maker Nvidia has recently updated its pages on the popular GTX 1060 graphics card.Thecomplete details of the update have not be made public yet, but the product line speaks a lot which reads “6GB GDDR5/X” — especially the “/X” at the end.

Nvidia has already four variants of GTX 1060: 1060 3GB, 1060 6GB, 1060 6GB with higher clocked GDDR5, and a quirky 1060 5GB. And according to Tom’s Hardware post, despite the fact that GDDR5 and GDDR5X have similar names, the new card differs from past approaches.Priced at $299, the GDDR5X variant is faster than the GDDR5, and the GDDR5Xhas 190-ball BGAwhile GDDR5 has got a 170-ball BGA format.

Having a price-to-performance quality, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 is not only hard to beat, but also tremendously popular among gamers. After all, GTX 1060 has been sitting on the throne of the undefeated champion on Steam's Hardware & Software Survey for a while. And now with this fifth edition of GTX 1060, the world-famous graphics card manufacturer is all set to stay ahead of the game as its competitor, AMD is expected to work on its Radeon RX 500-series and upgrade it very soon.
