American Software Giant Microsoft is gearing up for the launch of a vital software development kit (SDK). The SDK will enable game developers to integrate Xbox live with Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, PC and Xbox.
Only a few games in Android and iOS have Xbox Live Achievements. The software giant describes this new push as much bigger. According to the GDC listing, with the release of the new cross-platform XDX, Xbox Live is planning to expand from 400 million gaming devices to two billion devices that are over 68 million active players.
With the new platform, the developers will be able to integrate the following into existing mobile games: multiplayer functionality, friends list, and achievements. The new development is an important step towards the company’s gaming mission to tap the market outside of its traditional PC and Xbox markets. It will also help to deploy games, services, and software to players on rival platforms.
The company is also working on aservice called xCloud game streaming service. The service will allow Xbox games to stream with PCs, mobile devices and consoles. The development is expected to launch later this year.
Microsoft already has its Xbox game pass and now it intends to roll out a Netflix for video games. The company is working on it. If this feature is launched then users will be able to subscribe to games no matter where they plan to play them.
