LG Uplus, a telecom company owned by LG Corporation has made a partnership with Nvidia to roll out new cloud gaming platform for its new 5G smartphones and IP TV services. The announcement was made public on Saturday.

Both the companies- LG Uplus and Nvidia signed a deal where Nvidia will provide its GeForce NOW Cloud gaming platform to LG Uplus. The new partnership will allow the mobile and Internet subscribers of LG Uplus to experience a rich array of games.

Users have the freedom to operate their accounts from online stores play their choice of games from a server because GE Force is now an open platform. The sources are referred from the Yonhap news agency.

Under Nvidia’s gaming list, there are more than 500 games which users can enjoy. Games like Fortnite and League of Legends are the most popular among local gamers.

Cloud gaming runs on a server and a low-latency internet connection is needed to render the graphics; therefore, the South Korean company will also work on fixed-line connections and 5G smartphones to establish the system with NVidia.

Since cloud gaming is a vital part of its 5G services, LG Uplus will focus more on the segment; aiming to attract more consumers when 5G smartphones are launched in the coming months.

Sources familiar to the matter stated that the new gaming platform will be available by the first half of this year.

LG Electronics intends to launch 5G smartphones in the first half of this year.
