Combining decades of experience to provide trusted identities and secure transactions under one brand

In 2014, a vision for a new era for the company emerged as Datacard Group acquired Entrust, and became Entrust Datacard. The combining of expertise from both organizations was highly recognized by industry experts, who called the company a “visionary” in the market. The leadership team has worked diligently to unite the two companies, which included a new corporate rebranding from Datacard Group and Entrust to Entrust Datacard, which officially united the two product portfolios, cultures and visions.

The acquisition of Entrust allowed Datacard Group to meet the increased digital security demands of its customers. Today, the legacy Entrust product portfolio continues to provide a software authentication platform that manages today’s most secure identity credentials, helping to solve customers’ digital security challenges in cloud and mobile security, physical and logical access, citizen eID initiatives, certificate management and SSL.

Entrust Datacard now applies its expertise in three key segments – consumer, citizen and enterprise. While the company doesn’t generally sell directly to consumers, citizens or employees, they are the ones who use Entrust Datacard technologies every day.

Today, Entrust Datacard enables its customers to issue over 10 million physical identities daily, handle over 400 billion online transactions per year, and manage billions of electronic identities, including the majority of payment cards and identification solutions. Latest offerings
Entrust Datacard recently announced the availability of the Entrust Datacard Authentication Cloud Service solution. The new offering expands on the company’s robust portfolio of identity-based security solutions and allows for enterprise-grade authentication with the ease of a true SaaS platform.

The Entrust Datacard Authentication Cloud Service is a highly scalable, always on, multi-tenant Authentication SaaS offering that provides customers with enterprise-grade authentication. It includes Entrust® IdentityGuard ™, an on-prem authentication solution, and Entrust IdentityGuard Virtual Appliance, an easy-to-deploy authentication with the power of an on-prem solution. The Entrust Datacard ™ Authentication Cloud Service can be configured quickly to protect on premise and in-cloud assets, services and applications using the widest range of available physical, digital and mobile authenticators, and best-in-class adaptive authentication and step-up security policies.

Around the same time, the company also released a Color Label Printing Module for the Datacard® MX8100™, MX6100™ Card Issuance Systems and the Datacard® DX5100™ Card Delivery System.

The all-in-one label printing and affixing module, powered by Memjet inkjet technology, prints full-color, edge-to-edge, high resolution – 800 dpi – images, text and graphics on blank white label stock and affixes customized labels to cards inline.

With this module, marketing professionals can create individualized labels for each card personalized on the card issuance system or affixed to a carrier on the card delivery system.

Meet the Master

Todd Wilkinson, President and Chief Executive Officer: Todd Wilkinson is president and chief executive officer of Entrust Datacard. Under his leadership, Entrust Datacard has expanded its position in the payments and information security markets. In 2014, he ushered in a new era for the company as Datacard Group acquired Entrust and became Entrust Datacard. The combining of expertise from both organizations was noted and recognized by industry analysts including Gartner, which called out the company as a Visionary in its Magic Quadrant.

Mr. Wilkinson first joined the company a decade ago as the chief financial and administrative officer. He has served as president and CEO since 2008. Previously he held executive roles at General Electric after beginning his career at USG Corporation. Mr. Wilkinson holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University.
