Evoke Neuroscience was formed in 2009 by research scientists, clinicians, medical doctors, and business professionals dedicated to developing and delivering the most important advances in brain science. The three founders have more than 60 combined years of expertise in the assessment and training of elite peak performance, concussion, brain injury, and optimizing healthy aging.

The company is committed to solving the current gap in comprehensive brain assessments and training solutions. Evoke Neuroscience’s systems use multimodal brain evaluations, support training, and rehabilitation solutions so sophisticated, they are just now becoming available to the public.

Created to give new life

Evoke Neuroscience was formed to develop as automated, wireless, non-intrusive, low cost, rapid deployment brain function measurement and brain treatment system. It was designed to be easily used reliably by any level technician and provide quantitative analysis reports of heart rate variability, sensory processing evoke potentials, cognitive and memory processing evoke potentials, and full brain region measures against normal comparison groups. The very system was designed around the heart rate variability biofeedback and EEG biofeedback suite so that the initial assessment would direct adjunct biofeedback treatment options. The product was developed by doctors for doctors. Physicians across the country have integrated into their medical practices this most advanced and easiest to use medical neuroscience system.  

Innovation has no boundaries

The first product was the eVox System, a Bluetooth wireless 24-channel EEG and ECG amplifier complete with dedicated laptop, testing supplies, and carry case. The selection of high quality circuit boards and components allow for high quality brain and heart data acquisition and biofeedback interventions. The company is now at a stage to add large scale marketing, sales, and distribution which will result in thousands of doctors being able to add this valuable medical product to their practices and hospitals.

Company’s new product called the Wave will be completed in 2017 offering consumers a tool to improve personal performance. Like the parent product eVox, the Wave is designed to offer brain and heart training or interventions that help the individual heal or reach a higher peak performance.

Evoke is a “service” company where customer attention and service are job #1. Because of the cloud-based processing and remote access capability of our engineering department to each customer’s eVox system, the changes are seamless for the customer. The new Evoke Wave headset will utilize dry sensor technology and a greater number of scalp locations and head sensor points so that one easy to use headset will permit anyone to put it on and train their heart and brain. This product is a result of attention to customer needs and observing where similar but lesser quality products went wrong.

Big things are ahead!

“Stead as you go” might be the biggest reason for consistent growth. There are always temptations to run down another appealing rabbit trail. By keeping a keen eye on the customers need and the core product, profits follow more readily.

A business venture requires project planning and group commitment to follow the plan, or jointly change the plan when data informs such a need. By blending creative thinkers with the more linear thinkers, we get a nice balance of insights that drive better decisions about forward growth.

I don’t really see myself as one driven to excel in “business”. I see “business” as the necessary vehicle to product the very products that my patients need. I only started the company by liquidating my assets so that I could manufacture what I wanted to use myself in the understanding of very complex patients and then offering them adjunct interventions that can heal. We serve the society at large by producing medical applications and tools for evaluating patient health and offering complimentary treatment options.

Here comes the future

The Evoke Wave is an EEG and ECG wireless dry sensor headset of high quality, aesthetically appealing, and packs powerful brain and heart evaluation algorithms with the addition of brain and heart training capabilities. It has applications for home users, medical prescription use, and sports side line evaluations. A useful heart rate variability biofeedback and rapid home assessment application for Android and Apple devices is called Mindja. It will have widespread applications for school children to aid with attention and health all the way to executives needing to safely manage stress to optimize health and performance.

The Wave-Stim is a future product that harnesses all that Evoke has produced to date plus integrating our patented brain stimulation components. Within the last year several capital groups and interested investors in healthcare and technology funds have expressed interest in the company. There are merger opportunities of late and with our upcoming additional products the potential for moving the company to a public offering is taking shape. Meet the Mastermind

Dr. David Hagedorn Founder, CEO, Chief Science Officer, and President: Dr. Hagedorn is experienced in clinical health psychology and neuropsychology and serves as an international neuroscience and biofeedback research consultant and instructor. Dr. Hagedorn has master’s degrees in both Applied Behavior Analysis and Clinical Psychology, with a graduate specialty in Gerontology. He also has a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, with an additional Health Psychology Doctoral Certificate and postdoctoral training in neuropsychology. He previously served as an Assistant Professor of Military and Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences School of Medicine. Dr. Hagedorn leads Evoke Neuroscience as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Science Officer. Dr. Hagedorn is Board Certified by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance as an electroencephalography biofeedback practitioner. He is a recognized leader in the clinical neuroscience field with expertise in EEG and ERP acquisition, QEEG analysis, and brain computer interface (BCI) and portable peripheral biofeedback methods. He is a clinical advisor to physicians and companies that specialize in the integrative use of transcranial direct current stimulation and transcranial magnetic stimulation.
