“We deliver business-critical cloud communications solutions  for SMBs through large enterprises.”

AltiGen was founded in 1994 with the objective of designing, developing, and distributing IP PBX telephone systems to the SMB market. For a number of years, to support the operation of its core IP PBX software, the company manufactured purpose built computer servers, computer telephony boards for voice processing and telephone handsets.

As networking and computing technologies evolved, the company was able to shift its focus to developing all software IP PBX and contact center solutions. These efforts had a profound impact on the company, including the elimination of all proprietary AltiGen hardware, increased scalability of its solutions, the ability to deploy its solutions in the cloud, and the integration of its software communications solutions with Microsoft Skype for Business and Office 365 – which has been branded as UC Cloud.

Today AltiGen has hundreds of enterprise customers, including such Fortune 1000 companies as Avis Budget, Fiserv and Dollar General. It also has thousands of small and mid-market customers in virtually all industry segments. One of its distinctive advantages is that, as a result of its integrated UC Cloud, the company is able to tailor its solutions for a wide spectrum of businesses. For example, it can deliver hosted PBX to a company with as few as 10 employees, hosted Skype for Business to an organization with thousands of employees, and hosted contact center for companies of all sizes.

AltiGen in the Market
AltiGen has evolved to become a complete cloud communications solutions provider. By integrating its IP PBX and contact center solutions with Microsoft’s Skype for Business and Office 365 AltiGen is now able to uniquely deliver a comprehensive suite of enterprise-class Unified Communications solutions as a fully managed cloud service. It also offers its customers the option to use AltiGen’s SIP trunks or use their own service provider, which is particularly beneficial to customers who cannot
or do not wish to change service providers.

It isn’t easy after all!
The single biggest challenge the company faces is “cutting through the clutter” in terms of the sheer number of competitors in the UCaaS space. However, most communications service providers have either internally developed, or resell, proprietary PBX and Unified Communications solutions. While these organizations increasingly find themselves in the position of having to compete with Microsoft’s Skype for Business and Office 365 Cloud PBX, AltiGen is able to fully leverage those technologies to deliver a complete, integrated solution to its customers.

The Future Sight
Clearly it is in the midst of a major technology shift, with companies of all sizes moving away from the traditional model of up front purchases of hardware and software deployed on premises in favor of cloud-based solutions having predictable monthly expenses. Its plan is to continue to enhance and extend the capabilities of its UC Cloud offering with additional value-add Unified Communications solutions – delivered as an easy to manage, cost effective cloud service. It is all about customers anyway! Its UC Cloud has been specifically  designed for channel partners to  easily and cost effectively deliver Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) to their customers, with AltiGen providing complete 24/7 support for the entire solution. Its customers benefit from UC Cloud first by eliminating the CapEx associated with deploying on premises Unified Communications systems. In fact, for most customers the total cost of ownership of AltiGen’s UC Cloud is far less compared to on premises deployments. Moreover, its single integrated UC solution greatly simplifies system management and frees up its customers’ IT staffs to focus on other projects.
