The Formic Team has built and deployed hundreds of robots across a range of industries. Automation is more versatile and effective than ever. However, many facilities have not yet taken the step to automate due to concerns over cost, complexity, or return on investment. The time to automate is now, and Formic can help you take the first step. Formic’s model makes deploying automation simpler and more cost effective than ever before, saving you money from day one. Many facility managers find that implementing automation is itself a full-time job, and quite a headache. Facilities need to identify the right applications, look for integrators, build an in-house engineering team, and find room in the budget before being able to implement automation. Common challenges include: unforeseen system downtime, finding integrators who are trustworthy and competent, and system repurposing when your production processes change. The team built Formic for a better way.

At Formic, the team fronts all the upfront costs and only charge you when the system is running, which means Formic has skin in the game to make sure your systems performing and saving you money on OpEx from day 1. Formic’s incentives are aligned perfectly with yours. Formic doesn’t make money unless you are producing and saving with automation from day one. If you’ve considered automation in the past but didn’t implement, now is the right time to revisit your approach.

  • unique pay-by-the-hour model ensures results while providing predictability on your bottom line
  • Formic takes full responsibility for system uptime. You only pay when the robots are performing as promised

This nation was founded on the defiant idea that there’s nothing we can’t do. When we don’t see a solution, we roll up our sleeves and make one. A legacy Formic is proud to live up to. Every day, business is built by hand; reliable hands that don’t know the meaning of the word stop. Hands that do what they’ve always done, build solutions. Putting robotics in place within your operation. Solving your problems without creating any. Formic didn’t invent automation. Formic invented efficient, on-demand access to automation. All science. No friction Automation is a necessity, not a luxury. Formic continues the American legacy of innovation by making it your reality

Improve productivity and increase your throughput and machine uptime. Increase your throughput and machine uptime by utilizing robots in your material handling lines. Material handling robots are commonly used in food, pharmaceutical and consumer goods production facilities. Let robots ensure the quality of your plant’s output. Formic builds systems that can complete accurate measurements. Automated quality inspections will improve product quality at scale. The American Welding Society is estimating a shortage of 400,000 welders by 2025. Formic can help automate your welding applications and have a variety of solutions that could help fill the gap. Formic can automate many tasks that are highly repetitive. Just get in touch for a free automation consultation. Formic’s applications engineers will gladly assist you with an evaluation. Automating the palletization process is an important decision for factory owners. It can dramatically improve efficiency, accuracy, safety, and cost savings. But it’s also a big investment, so you want to make sure you choose the right vendor for your automation needs. Here are some tips for making the best choice.

Geographic Proximity

Automation can seem daunting when you’re starting out, which is why it's important to have an integrator close. This way any issues are handled promptly and efficiently without having to wait for someone from a distant location to fly in. “You’ll want to get somebody [within] a couple of hours down the street so that if you run into issues, you can give them a call, hey, can you just stop in here and help us out?” says Wesley Garrett of FANUC America.

Look at Their Track Record

The most important step in choosing a vendor is researching their track record. Do they have experience in your industry? Are they familiar with the products or machines you use? Do they have a good reputation with other factories and customers? “Today we’re talking about palletizing, so you’ll want to find an integrator that has built a few palletizers,” says Garrett. “You don’t want it to be their first palletizer…you [don’t want to] be their guinea pig.” All of these factors should be taken into account when selecting a vendor. Furthermore, look at their customer reviews to get an idea of their customer service quality. You should also ask them to provide references from previous customers who had similar systems installed so that you can learn more about their work firsthand.

Ask About Their Solutions

Every factory is different and has unique challenges and needs. Therefore, it’s important to ask vendors about the solutions they offer and how those solutions could benefit your specific needs. Ask them how their system will integrate with other existing processes and machines in your factory, as well as how it will impact safety protocols and regulations. Additionally, inquire about any additional services or support plans that are included as part of their package so that you know exactly what you’re getting and what kind of help is available if any issues arise later on down the road.
