Founded in year 2011 by Dr. Boris Zibitsker, BEZNext offers Performance Assurance solutions for Big Data World. The company develops software, provides services and training in applying predictive and optimization technology for Big Data and Data Warehouse applications. It caters to wide range of industries including retail, telecommunication, insurance, banking, financial services and government. Backed by an expert team of various PhD consultants with years of experience and skill in predictive and prescriptive analytics, optimization technology, machine learning, queuing theory, data science, Big Data advanced analytics, data warehousing, performance management, workload management and capacity planning.

Why was the company set up? How did you select the vertical and decide to be a part of the global platform?

I realized that in today’s fast-paced world, businesses and organizations demand and depend on real time business decisions. This demand creates a challenge for IT to develop Big Data applications capable to process large volumes of data and produce results in real time. Performance monitoring and performance measurement tools provide a lot of data and information, but they do not predict the outcome of different actions and do not develop actionable recommendations. Individuals who are responsible for making decisions need prediction results to compare different options and technology generating recommendations – prescriptions. This motivated me to align BEZNext into a company that develops Performance Assurance 

Technology and Services, incorporating Performance Engineering for new applications, Dynamic Performance Management for production workloads and Long Term Capacity Planning.

Tell us about your first product that was launched?

Our first product was Performance Assurance solutions for Big Data Hadoop 1x, it was announced in 2014. Customers encouraged us to support Hadoop 2.x real time applications and provide more services.

What kind of mixed responses have you received from your consumers?

Our customers were supportive, nonetheless they were demanding to provide support for both batch and near-real time applications for Hadoop 2x. Users also requested Dynamic performance management for business workload level and to develop actionable recommendations.

What were the grounds on which you have expanded your company and its offerings over the years?

We have a lot of experience in applying modeling for optimization of business and IT decisions. Experience in complex systems modeling, predictions, prescriptions and optimization certainly helps us. Furthermore Partnering with the leading Big Data vendors and customers granted us solid experience; along with providing solutions to hundreds of Fortune 500 companies.

We partnered with IBM Big Data University and also provide helping hand to several Universities in organizing education for Data Scientists. Moreover, we participated in SPEC Big Data project. All these attributes pushed the company further.

‘It is difficult to start a venture. But far more difficult to maintain it’ - How would you and your team interpret this saying?   

My first company was BEZ systems. I founded it in 1983 and sold it in 2010. Having confidence in one’s vision, strength in applying predictive analytics for optimization of performance management and capacity planning for large Data Warehouses and willingness to overcome all obstacles in spite of everything is the key. This drove me to start BEZNext focusing on Big Data Performance Assurance. Together with financial discipline and support from our business partners helped us to move forward. Rely on hard work, rather than miracles.

What guided you to set this company up?

The wisdom I gained from overcoming mistakes during running BEZ Systems, wide acceptance of Big Data and also my previous company experiences were like a handbook for the dawn of BEZNext.

Do you have any new products ready to be rolled out into the market?

Yes we do. These are the ones which are currently scheduled:

• Enhancement of Performance Engineering – applying ML algorithms for DevOps
• Enhancement of Dynamic Performance Management for Big Data environments

As President and CEO of BEZNext Dr. Zibitsker focuses on applying predictive and prescriptive analytics for optimization of business and IT decisions. He oversees development of the Performance Assurance, Performance Engineering, Dynamic Performance Management and Capacity Planning technology and consulting services. He works on Capstone projects with graduate students at University of Chicago and as a member of SPEC Research Group participate in Big Data Project.

As CTO of Modeling and Optimization at Compuware, 2010 – 2014 Dr. Zibitsker  participated in development of Machine Learning algorithms for performance and availability anomaly detection, problems prediction and root cause determination for internet and web applications.

As a Founder, President and Chairman of BEZ Systems (1983 - 2010), acquired by Compuware in 2010 he managed development of BEZVision Performance Prediction and Capacity Management software for Teradata, Oracle, DB2 and SQL Servers.

Adjunct Associate Professor, DePaul University in Chicago (1983 – 1990), where he taught several graduate courses related to Modeling of Computer Systems and Networks. Dr. Zibitsker is often presenter. He was a Co-Chair of International Conferences on Big Data Advanced Analytics, taught seminars at Northwestern University, University of Chicago and Relational Institute, North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. He has MS and PhD and he is a Honorable Doctor at BSUIR.
