The foundation for digital resilience: RedSeal

thesiliconreview-ray-rothrock-ceo-redseal-18Founded in 2004, RedSeal is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, RedSeal determines the RedSeal Digital Resilience Score(TM), a network cyber risk score modeled after a creditworthiness score. It is the essential network modeling and risk scoring platform that puts decision-making power right in the hands.

With RedSeal’s network modeling and risk scoring platform, users are able to understand the state of the network, measure digital resilience, verify compliance, and accelerate incident investigation.

As thought leaders on resilience, the company envisions every organization starting the security discussion with the question “What’s our Digital Resilience Score?”

RedSeal’s customers depend on the most sophisticated security. More than 220 Global 2000 corporations and government agencies that depend on the most sophisticated security depend on RedSeal. The company’s commercial customers span the finance, utilities, service provider, and technology and retail sectors. The government customers include large U.S. federal agencies, including the DoD, civilian, and intelligence communities. RedSeal serve global customers in North America, Europe, and Asia.

RedSeal partners with all of the top suppliers of network infrastructure. Its software integrates with all industry-leading security, as well as with major workflow vendors, providing its customers with a comprehensive network security solution.

Actively manage your digital resilience with RedSeal’s Platform

Even with the billions invested in hundreds of network security products, incidents, breaches, and failures are inevitable. The most forward-thinking business leaders realize that the best approach is to make their networks resilient. Resilience is the ability to stay in business and minimize damage to the customers, the reputation, and the bottom line when the inevitable incident happens.

Even though one can never prevent every attack, a resilient network can prevent an incident from becoming a breach, stopping an attacker in his tracks.

So how do you measure and manage your digital resilience? That’s where RedSeal’s network modeling and risk scoring platform comes in.

RedSeal’s Network Modeling and Risk Scoring Platform Give You the Power To:

Understand Your Network: RedSeal’s security analytics platform analyzes your network and automatically builds a model, so you can understand and continuously monitor your whole network.

Measure Resilience: With your RedSeal Digital Resilience Score, you can measure, benchmark, and set targets to actively manage the digital cyber resilience of your network and security infrastructure.

Verify Compliance: By revealing configuration errors and discovering unintended access paths, the RedSeal network modeling and risk scoring platform helps you verify compliance with established operating standards, policies, and regulations.

Accelerate Investigation Of Security Incidents And Network Vulnerabilities: The RedSeal security analytics platform provides actionable intelligence for rapid investigation by identifying exposed assets and prioritizing actions. Waste no time with guesswork.

Network Modeling and Risk Scoring Solutions

Enhance existing security investments with RedSeal’s network knowledge. By enabling the hybrid datacenter to be resilient in the face of cyber incidents, RedSeal’s network modeling and risk scoring platform add value to the existing security investments.

Compliance with RedSeal

Whether you need to comply with legislative mandates like PCI DSS and NERC-CIP or with internal policies for logical separation and access by third parties, it can be very difficult to monitor and enforce access policies. When you add the need to document and prove that compliance – including tracking and maintaining an exception list — the task can become nearly impossible.

RedSeal automates much of the compliance process for you. With RedSeal’s model of your hybrid data center, you’ll be able to see all access paths and any exceptions to your policies – so you can quickly fix them. With daily data gathering, RedSeal will pick up any changes so you can be sure to document them and send you an alert if any change violates your policies.

With RedSeal’s continuous monitoring and reporting, you can be ready to prove your compliance at any time.

RedSeal and Network Incident Response

A RedSeal model of your network – across on-premise, cloud and virtual environments — gives you the map you need to quickly locate a compromised device. You’ll be able to determine which assets bad actors can reach from there – and how to stop them. Since RedSeal’s model includes all possible access paths, you’ll see specific paths the network attacker could take to valuable assets. And, you’ll get specific containment options so you can decide what action to take, from increasing monitoring, to placing honeypots, to changing firewall rules, to simply unplugging the device.

Security incident response that used to take hours, if not days, to determine becomes available immediately.

From Static to Dynamic Cyber Insurance

Leaders of enterprises and large organizations are increasingly turning to cyber insurance to mitigate their cyber risk. But their large networks are complex and dynamic. It can be challenging for cyber insurance underwriters to determine how to measure and price that cyber risk.

Cyber Insurance Clients and Brokers: XL Catlin and RedSeal have a joint, dynamic risk management offering. XL Catlin clients that install RedSeal’s platform get information to help improve their network’s resilience and may qualify for improved insurance terms.

Cyber Insurance Underwriters: RedSeal’s network modeling and cyber risk scoring platform give you critical insight into the risk inherent in a network. You’ll be able to evaluate the network’s resilience and determine how susceptible it is to the threat environment.
