Canadian-based multinational wireless telecommunications software Blackberry is recently in news for introducing their latest Android smartphones in India: the DTEK50 and the other DTEK60. The newest in the company’s DTEK series of secure Android smartphones, these devices boast BlackBerry security software inside, teamed with specialized hardware that makes for an especially secure device. Another good buzz is that both the DTEK devices will soon be available nationwide from the Optiemus distribution network at Rs 21,990 for the DTEK50, possibly by next week and Rs 46,990 for the DTEK60, which will start shipping from December.

The specialty of the Blackberry devices is the DTEK, which claims to make them the most secure Android devices available. To recap, the DTEK50 is based on a 5.2- inch Full HD display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC, coupled with 3GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage, expandable up to 2TB of memory via a microSD card. Going to the optics, it features a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, dual tone LED flash and a front-facing 8-megapixel camera. The phone is powered by a 2610 mAh of battery with Quick Charge 2.0 for fast charging.

The DTEK60 is the higher end out of the two, sporting a 5.5- inch QHD display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, harbouring 4GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage that is expandable to 2TB. The back camera features a 21-megapixel sensor with PDAF, dual tone LED flash, while the front camera is an 8-megapixel piece. The battery in this device gets a bump to 3000 mAh, and also has the latest Quick Charge 3.0 feature for fast charging. Both the DTEK Android devices will run on Android Marshmallow with BB skin on top.
