Why was the company set up? And what do you propose to bring into the market?
Cleverus was started to help both small and large businesses with their online marketing campaign.
In this digital age, online marketing has become increasingly important for all businesses. Our core expertise is to provide SEO, SEM, and Online Reputation Management solutions to help companies reach their business goals.
Tell us about your first product that was launched.
The first-ever service we offer to the market was SEO. As a big believer in Google’s search engine, we believe SEO has the potential to shorten the sales cycle and drive high-quality leads to businesses.
Over the years, SEO has been our bread and butter and it’s often the first service that we pitch to our clients.
How successful was your first project roll on? Share the experience.
After going through eight failed pitches with potential prospects and losing out to the other top SEO agency in Malaysia, we finally got our break in the ninth pitch. Finally, we were able to pay our employees.
The client is in the manufacturing industry and we focused all of our efforts to ensure the client is happy and getting results.
After helping them with SEO, we have managed to rank their 15 selected keywords on the first page of Google within four months.
Once they have reached the first page of Google, sales started to pour in and funny enough, the client actually told us they were facing headaches on how to handle the high influx of orders.
What is the current market scenario? And what is your company’s position in the market?
Things are different as compared to when we started over half a decade ago. In 2018 especially, we are noticing an emerging trend of established companies re-allocating their advertising budget.
For example, instead of the usual traditional advertising on television, newspaper, magazines, companies are gradually shifting towards online advertising on marketing platforms such as Google and Facebook. The data does not lie. Traditional advertising will deteriorate every year with the rise of these digital platforms.

We care for our clients is the most promising factor that makes us stand out from the competition. In every project, we aim to over deliver and drive better results for our clients.

How often do you innovate? Is it only when there is a need in the market?
We aim to innovate and establish our authority in this industry by developing an SEO platform to help our clients achieve results quicker. This will give us an edge over our SEO competitors as we continue to innovate.
We have been closely working with the developer and the software will be live in a couple of months.
Where do you see your company a couple of years from now?
We plan to expand our company as the largest online marketing agency across Asia within the next six years.
Lawmence Wong: A Promising Leader
Lawmence Wong is the CEO of Cleverus. Prior to starting Cleverus, Lawmence had owned three established businesses with 50 employees. He used his know-how of digital marketing to grow each business venture and realized the importance of online marketing in helping businesses to accelerate growth and increase sales. In fact, during those days, Mr. Wong had spent more time on online marketing than the day to day operations of his business due to his growing interest in the aspects of online marketing. Thankfully, Lawmence had a component team to handle the business operation and sales as he played the main role in driving leads to the business.
At the peak of his career in 2013, Mr. Wong decided to start Cleverus from scratch and enter a business venture. Fast forward few years, Cleverus Consulting has now grown into a strong team of 21 people, with offices in Malaysia, the Philippines, and the United States.
