Challenge
The company was looking for a new solution for its Straubing distribution center as the existing system could not meet any new demands or further expansion of the center in terms of flexibility, scalability, and capabilities for automation of the warehouse processes.

Solution & Result
Ingram Micro selected the viad@t WMS warehouse management system. As the exclusive certified integration partner for viad@t WMS in Russia and CIS countries, First Line Software provided the implementation services for viad@t WMS, including customization and integration with other Ingram Micro systems.

Since mid-July 2008, the control and management of all processes has been performed by the viad@t system in both sections of the warehouse complex. In addition to process management at external stock locations – from receiving inventory at the warehouse to placing containers on the charge deck for shipment to clients – the viad@t system provided Ingram Micro with an opportunity to partially automate the process of order-picking. As a result, warehouse efficiency increased by 20 percent.

Meet the CEO – Nick Puntikov
Nick is an entrepreneur and executive with proven success in building global technology organizations. In 1991, Nick founded his first private software engineering firm – StarSoft. Headquartered in Cambridge, MA, the company developed into a premier software services provider to clients in North America and Europe and employed 700 engineers. After its merger with Exigen Services in 2007, Nick continued as the CEO, running a 1,500-person operation in six countries across Europe, the Baltics and China. Today, Nick is the co-founder and CEO of First Line Software with 400+ technology professionals in multiple countries.
