“Helping local, national, and global businesses grow”
Running a business of any size takes grit. There may come a time when, as a business owner, you look to expand your brand, create new opportunities for growth, or face challenges unique to your business. You deserve a team that can assess your needs and goals quickly, and offer customized solutions with an eye to your timelines and your budget – a team that help you and your employees, shareholders, partners or Boards get back to the business at hand. You deserve a team made up of attorneys who know what it takes to run a successful business, because they have done it themselves.
The Gertsburg Law provides comprehensive counsel for clients in every industry. From its offices in Cleveland and Chagrin Falls it has represented private and publicly-traded companies of all sizes, non-profit organizations, and individual business owners.
The firm is a full-service Ohio business law firm that began in 2012 with one lawyer. It has grown to be a team of exceptional lawyers who are well-respected by their peers and their clients for their proactive and creative approach to business litigation and transactions. While working as the first General Counsel for Broadvox, a leading Cleveland-based, next-generation telecommunications company, firm founder Alex Gertsburg developed an acute appreciation for what matters most to businesses: practical advice and cost-effective results. From 2006-2015, he has led the company’s legal department through numerous and varied legal matters, including corporate restructurings; real estate deals and mergers and acquisitions; negotiations and transactions involving commercial, lender, and investor parties; and employment matters and creditors’ rights. He also spearheaded the company’s litigation strategy, personally litigating most of its cases himself. That same sense of results-driven pragmatism and leadership now dominates his firm’s governing philosophy.
The firm’s approach to business law is proactive and consultative, ultimately saving clients money in fees and exposure before issues arise. Its ability to charge the right cost for the right services includes alternative and creative fee arrangements, budgets and budget-to-actual tracking, and value adjustments of up to 10%, discretionary to clients. They are also the first business law firm in Ohio that offers all clients the ability to opt out of the billable hour on all matters, including litigation.
“Alex took an impossible case on behalf of my elderly parents, against all odds and impossibilities, and he righted a wrong. My parents feel vindicated and know that there’s a firm that will fight for their behalf. Thank you Alex!!!”
“Alex Gertsburg is in the top 1% as far as professionalism, knowledge of the law, informing his client of all the details that are going on, he gives time tables, he listens to a client, he takes advice from his client, and he has the ability to negotiate a fair settlement. Thank you for getting me a great settlement in a very short time frame.”
“Alex and the Associates in his law firm are fabulous. Their knowledge regarding real estate transaction issues have helped us complete many acquisitions, leases, and dispositions. We consider them a very important part of our team.”

By that time, Gertsburg had trained and served as an officer in the Army Reserve for ten years. In 2006, he was tapped to serve as the first General Counsel for Broadvox, a Cleveland-based leading next-generation telecommunications company. Gertsburg graduated magna cum laude from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, and was honoured with membership in the Order of the Barristers as a result of his successful tenure in the law school’s moot court program.
