Dependable Global Solutions (DGS), a Security and Intelligence Firm, was founded in September 2004 as a privately held small business. DGS specializes in IT security, mission assurance, and intelligence operations and analysis. The company builds, manages, and enhances its client’s ability to identify and deal with threats and attacks in near real-time. Since 2004, DGS has grown from a small firm focused on network security, to a multi-million-dollar firm that provides full-spectrum security solutions. DGS is headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia.

Forensics, Malware; Mission Assurance including COMSEC, Insider Threat, COOP, Physical Security, and Policy development; and Intelligence centered around providing tailored Technology, Mission/Operations Support, Analysis, and Training in direct support to operations groups and organizations across multiple clients and enterprises.

DGS holds a Top Secret Facility Clearance and is an ISSO 9001:2008 certified company. It currently provides these services to the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Intelligence, and Civilian Agencies as well as the Private Sector, including Healthcare and Banking Industry, at over 15 different locations worldwide.

How successful was your first project roll on? Share the experience.

DGS’ first project provided security support to the Army Operations Center (AOC) at the Pentagon. Our security team provided Computer Network Defense (CND) support. Due to the excellent service provided by the staff, the AOC continues to rely on DGS for security to this day, over a decade later.

What were the grounds on which you have expanded your company and its offerings over the years?

DGS continually expands our capabilities in response to evolving threats. Many of our clients have unique needs and we have expanded our capabilities to include Penetration Testing, Cyber Hunt, Digital Forensics, and Insider Threat analysis.

What challenges did you face in your initial years? What can your peers learn from it?

Organizations rely on firms recognized for their expertise, reputation, and experience performing work. As a small business, DGS had the expertise needed, but, as with all new companies, it took time to gain a reputation. The key to overcoming this challenge was existing relationships, trusted partners and hiring known, respected, industry experts.

What do you feel are the reasons behind your consistent growth as an organization?

DGS’ continued growth is the direct result of the people who work here. Without exception, our customers have expressed that DGS employees go above and beyond what is required of them. We have leveraged this reputation of excellent customer service to grow the organization.

How big is your organization today? Briefly explain the organizational structure.

DGS currently employs 200+ personnel and operates across 16 states and the District of Columbia. Our corporate headquarters are located in Falls Church, Virginia, and we have a significant presence in San Antonio, Texas, and Charleston, SC.

What drives/inspires you to excel in your field of business?

DGS customers provide for the nation’s security, so failure is not an option. At DGS this attitude is a constant driver and motivation to reinvest in developing the company and maintain our status as one of the country’s elite security service providers. Security, and cybersecurity in particular, is now a focal point of our warfighting ability. The need for DGS services is only going to continue growing.

Where do you see you see DGS a couple of years from now?

DGS has accumulated experience and broad understanding of the threats facing our nation. We will utilize this knowledge to support the security needs of critical infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and financial markets.  It is our goal to expand our expertise in both commercial and international markets.

Meet the Founders

Dai Do, Founder and CEO: Mr. Do founded DGS in 2004 and serves as the CEO. He has 20+ years of government contract experience. Prior to DGS, he managed the Intrusion Detection Team (IDS) protecting the Pentagon backbone and served at the Department of State as a Field Engineer. Mr. Do received a Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1997.

Joel Griffin, Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer:  As the Co-founder DGS, Mr. Griffin serves as the Chief Strategy Officer creating, executing, and sustaining strategic initiatives. He is a former Marine with 20+ years of professional experience working at Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockheed Martin, and Unisys. Mr. Griffin is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and is a Certified PMP.
