The core reason behind our success is the rapid way we deliver projects. No red tape, no gimmicks, just solid delivery with the help of great talent: Amber Bahl

Organizations of all sizes and types are embracing digital transformation as an essential, strategic business imperative. But the challenging question for those enterprises is “what do we do to transform?”

Cloud computing is a key enabler of digital transformation. It’s no longer just a buzz word inside the corporate IT department. In fact, cloud’s potential has captured the attention of business leaders across every vertical industry, looking to capitalize on its speed, scale, control and economics. Organizations around the world are increasingly relying on cloud to market, sell, develop products and manage supply chains. According to the research firm IDC, 85 percent of new software being built today is for the cloud.

In light of the above mentioned, we are thrilled to present Cyclotron Group. Since its inception, the firm has worked with over 160 customers all over the US integrating technologies like Security, Collaboration, Productivity, Unified Collaboration, Big Data, Analytics, and Cloud Application Modernization.

Cyclotron is headquartered in San Francisco and has additional offices in Bay Area, Greater Los Angeles, and Dallas regions.

Interview Excerpt: Amber Bahl, Founder/CEO

Why was the company set up?

Our Philosophy:

We believe in operating with context. Moving from business needs to a solution by collaborating along-side our customers. We bring projects to life at the speed of a company defined by growth: a Cyclotron. We are done with the sales runaround of big corporate consulting companies and our customers are too. Our approach is: Hire smart, develop smart, and manage smart. There is a lot that goes into this, but we use these philosophies as a collective guiding star.

A little about Cyclotron - Cyclotron was founded in December 2015 in San Francisco and hit the ground running. Just like a real cyclotron, we accelerated in growth as a company and have expanded our growing team of engineers, branding specialists, and account managers. We started off helping some of the most innovative large and small companies local to us in the Bay Area. Since then, we have expanded up and down the west coast, across the country, and internationally. Our focus remains the same; increase worker productivity and safety through the implementation of big data, security, and collaboration solutions.

Tell us about your first product that was launched.

Cyclotron’s first product was a Data Loss Prevention engine geared towards helping financial organizations with security and compliance. Since then, we have launched multiple line of business applications for various verticals including Pharmaceutical, Retail, and Manufacturing.

What were the grounds on which you have expanded your company and its offerings over the years?

The core reason behind our success is the rapid way we deliver projects. No red tape, no gimmicks, just solid delivery with the help of great talent. Our main source of growth is customer references. We make it easy to get projects started and delivered.

What challenges did you face in your initial years? What can your peers learn from it?

Being in the Bay Area, hiring was one of the toughest challenges. We were constantly stepping outside the box and looking for ways to attract new talent. We also offer great benefits such as unlimited vacation, 100 percent health and dental care, flexible and remote working capabilities, exciting educational work trips, as well as amazing (optional) team building events. Still, we are at the epicenter of technological innovation, and talent will always be hard to come by, as all great startups are offering creative environments to work in.

What do you feel are the reasons behind:

Your product popularity – From an intuitive SaaS application that helps enterprises with ideation to a script that helps automate difficult migrations from outdated technology to more modern experiences, Cyclotron’s product popularity remains its people.

Your consistent growth as an organization – Cyclotron is adding an average of four new customers a month and approximately one new hire every week. As our customer base grows, so does our product offerings and we are nearing our 10th application release, not including upgrades to existing released products.

Are there any trigger factors/events/individuals that have played key roles in shaping your organization’s road map?

Our strategic relationship with Microsoft plays a big part in achieving the accelerated growth. As a Microsoft Managed Partner, we gain access to technology and partner funding opportunities that are limited to a handful of partners. It also gives us an expanded channel network in which to market our success and that opens up more new client opportunities across the Microsoft client base.

What learnings helped you to set this company up?

The experience that helped start Cyclotron came from education acquired both inside and outside the corporate world. At Cyclotron, we understand the importance of enabling those around you to work in an environment where they will do their best work. When you hire the absolute best, enable them, and remove all hurdles keeping them from reaching their potential, anything is possible.

How do you and your company contribute to the global IT platform and society at large?

We are contributing to the larger global IT platform in that we are revolutionizing the way that IT services and products are delivered. In our opinion, technology services act as the ever-important wiring within an organization – and much of that ‘wiring’ is grossly outdated. Improving that wiring improves society as a whole; companies with healthy technology environments are freer to improve daily life for us all.

Where do you see your company a couple of years from now?

Cyclotron is dedicated to making investments in its people, new locations and practice areas as well as making vertical centric products a key focus.
