COL (Ret) Byron L. Cherry, Sr., founded Succeed to Lead, LLC in 2007. As CEO, he is responsible for corporate, strategic and business planning, financial management oversight, and corporate business outreach. Succeed to Lead provides a broad range of consulting services in Financial Management to include all areas of Budget Analysis and Budget Execution, Information Technology, IT Portfolio Management, Cyber Security, Program/Project Management, Human Resource Management and Training the Department of Defense, other federal agencies and state and local governments. It aims to please its clients from a position of strength, and as a leader in its profession.

The company has effectively built and developed solid relationships with clients such as DoD; DHS;HQ Marine Corps, Programs & Resources Pentagon; HQ Marine Corps Combat Development Command; HQ Marine Corps Systems Command; USSOCOM (US Special Operations Command); TRADOC (Training and Doctrine Command); Fort Eustis; Small Business Administration (SBA) and many organizations.

Meet the Chieftain

Colonel (Retired), Dr. Byron L. Cherry, Sr., President & CEO: Dr. Cherry is a native of Norfolk, Virginia. He began his professional career as a United States Army officer, serving 26 years of active service. Some of his key assignments included tours with the Chief Information Officer/G-6 (CIO/G-6) as Chief of Investment Strategy, Comptroller, US Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne), US Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Commander, Delta Company, 3/318th Infantry Regiment. He has been awarded the Expert Infantryman’s Badge and the Jump Master / Master Parachutist Badge to name a few. Dr. Cherry has been awarded airborne wings from Australia, Canada, Greece, Mexico and the Master Parachutist Badge from Venezuela.

Dr. Cherry received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Norfolk State University; his Masters of Business Administration from Troy University; a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University, Washington, DC, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organizational Leadership from Regent University, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
