gkkworks has extensive experience in all aspects of healthcare design and medical planning including inpatient and outpatient facilities. Projects include master plans in both urban and rural settings as well as major facility expansions and renovation projects. In addition to our design capabilities, gkkworks provides construction management services including staff augmentation and project management.

Education

gkkworks has extensive experience in the planning, design, and construction of new, modernized, and renovated K-12 school facilities. gkkworks has extensive experience in the planning, design, and construction of higher education facilities including new construction and renovation projects for public and private colleges and universities. The company has designed and built virtually all higher education facilities types including administrative offices, classroom and laboratory buildings, lecture halls and auditoriums, libraries and learning resource centers, student services centers, off-site centers, gymnasiums, sporting fields, and aquatic centers.

Federal Government

gkkworks offers integrated design and construction services for CONUS and OCONUS facilities for the Federal Government. More than 75% of gkkworks’ design-build and construction services in Federal facilities are performed within US military installations where the continual operations of the facilities are critical, requiring zero downtime during the construction phase of the project. gkkworks has a long history supporting public sector projects including award winning civic centers, courthouses, hospitals, correctional and detention facilities, fire stations, police facilities, emergency operations centers, libraries, and recreational facilities.

With over three decades of delivering inventive and proven design and planning principals in mixed-use, office space, corporate headquarters, and retail projects, gkkworks is well-versed at balancing the business requirements of commercial projects with thoughtfully-crafted design solutions. Transportation

gkkworks’ transportation services division was born out of the growing need for transportation specialists who can address increasingly complex mobility issues. We provide planning, architecture, and construction management expertise in transit-oriented development, ports, and aviation-related projects. Our firm brings a depth of resources rooted in more than 20 years of experience.

Sustainability

gkkworks’ energy services focuses on providing professional consulting services to clients that are looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint, implement renewable energy projects, or large scale energy reduction and conservation programs. Hospitality

gkkworks has been serving the hospitality and housing industries with new construction, renovation and adaptive re-use of historic structures for more than 30 years. Hospitality projects range from the Denver Regency Hyatt Convention Center Hotel to smaller, technical renovations of existing properties. Our experience includes meeting and pre-function spaces, ballrooms and business centers. A luxury high-rise senior living community is currently under design in Denver’s urban core and we also conduct planning and design of student housing and mixed use residences.

The Visionary

Praful Kulkarni, AIA, President and CEO: In 1991 Praful founded gkkworks to pursue his dream of becoming a “Master Builder.” To accomplish this Praful opted to do something almost unheard of in the modern world of architecture: establish an integrated division devoted to construction management and general construction services. In time, gkkworks would become a model company providing integrated services and customized solutions to better serve the building industry. Praful is a registered architect and holds a degree in Architecture from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur. He also holds a Masters of Architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University. Praful provides distinct vision to the firm’s philosophy, responsibility, and dedication to client’s needs and goals. He is an active member of the national board for the Design-Build Institute of America. He also serves on numerous additional boards and is the proud recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his excellence and success in innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to his business, clients, and the communities they serve.
