Grup Servicii Petroliere (GSP) performs offshore integrated services for the oil and gas industry. It operates an extensive and diversified fleet including eight mobile offshore drilling rigs – GSP Atlas, GSP Fortuna, GSP Jupiter, GSP Magellan, GSP Orizont, GSP Prometeu, GSP Saturn, and GSP Uranus. GSP also operates twelve multifunctional offshore support vessels, one MEDEVAC and three construction vessels – a shallow water pipelay and heavy lift barge, a semi-submersible barge, a pipelay vessel and two crane barges, as well as several ROVs and one Saturation Diving System.

Drilling: GSP performs offshore drilling activity using its eight drilling rigs. Since 2004, GSP has invested over 500 mil USD in the acquisition and modernization of its vessels and drilling rigs. All its rigs comply with the MODU Code requirements, as well as with the ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, IMO, COLREG, Load Line Conventions, and the International Conventions of Tonnage measurements of ships.

Shipping: GSP owns and operates a fleet of multipurpose vessels designed to effectively cover the entire supply and transportation service chain for the offshore industry. Its naval supply and transportation services are provided by ten multitasking vessels. The company also supports the offshore industry with a comprehensive range of technical vessels. GSP provides safe rig move operations in an efficiently coordinated manner. A highly trained and experienced marine operations team uses modern equipment to get rigs moved and rigged up as efficiently as possible.

Offshore Construction: Grup Servicii Petroliere provides a comprehensive set of offshore construction services, including analysis and design of fixed offshore platforms, jackets, topsides, subsea pipelines. The offshore construction services include project management, engineering, procurement, fabrication, load-out, sea fastening, heavy lift transportation, installation services, commissioning, and maintenance.

Subsea Services: GSP has developed its subsea installation capabilities by acquiring high-tech subsea survey and SAT diving equipments, supplied by leading producing and supplying companies. Its subsea installation services focus on two core activities in fields where the competence and technologicalendowment provide the company with a strong position: ROV and SAT diving. The subsea installation services are among the fastest growing services the company provides for clients demanding complete offshore solutions.

Hydro-technical Construction: Grup Servicii Petroliere performs marine works and re-construction works, answering the demands of the regional market. It is committed to supply its clients the most effective marine work solutions with the most reduced environmental impact, with the safest technologies at the highest quality level. The Company performs services in the marine and hydro-ameliorative construction field by ensuring a complete package of reporting, cost management, planning and controlling, technical maintenance manuals, commissioning, risk assessment and accurate safety procedures.

Engineering: GSP delivers state of the art engineering with Euroned Engineering BV, Comproiect 92 and Upetrom Engineering, member companies of Upetrom Group. The Company supports the design, construction, handover, commissioning, operations and maintenance of the engineering projects with innovative thinking, proven processes and most advanced technologies.

Say hello to the distinguished CEO: Gabriel Valentin Comanescu

Comanescu established Grup Servicii Petroliere in 2004 and was appointed CEO in July 2012.

Mr. Comanescu entered the Romanian Commercial Navy in 1988 as an electrical officer. 1992 marked his involvement in the general trading business and in 1995 he guided the establishment of the first oil service trading company which was involved in oilfield equipment and spare parts supply. He has held executive positions in various companies activating in the oil and gas industry. Since 2005, he has served as President of Upetrom Group, an integrated group of companies with activities in offshore drilling and construction, well intervention services, subsea services, hydro-technical construction, training, engineering, shipping, oilfield equipment production, as well as in the tourism sector. Mr. Comanescu has a degree in Naval Electromechanical Engineering from the “Mircea cel Batran” Naval Academy, Constanta.
