Shift Power, Energize Your World: Hydrogenics

thesiliconreview-daryl-wilson-ceo-hydrogenics-17Hydrogenics is the worldwide leader in designing, manufacturing, building and installing industrial and commercial hydrogen generation, fuel cells and MW-scale energy storage solutions. With over 60 years of experience, Hydrogenics is helping to accelerate a global “power shift” for a cleaner energy future. Hydrogenics is headquartered in Mississauga, Canada with manufacturing facilities located in Germany and Belgium. We have other corporate and sales offices, and hydrogen installations, operating in several countries around the world.

The company offers world leading expertise for a range of applications, including:

  • PEM and alkaline hydrogen generators for Industrial processes and Fueling stations
  • Hydrogen fuel cells for electric vehicles, such as urban transit buses, commercial fleets, utility vehicles and electric lift trucks
  • Fuel cell installations for freestanding electrical power plants, critical power and UPS systems (uninterruptible power supply)
  • “Power-to-Gas” the world’s most innovative way to store and transport energy

Products and Solutions Portfolio

Industrial Hydrogen Generators by Electrolysis

The HySTAT™ and HyLYZER™ hydrogen generators are the result of a continuous strive to increase performance, flexibility, quality and durability. It offers you the best cost/quality ratio and conversion efficiency in the industry. Hundreds of customers around the globe have already put their trust in our systems. Hydrogenics has developed different turnkey solutions to meet your requirements in Chemicals or Pharmaceutical industry, Electronics and semi-conductors, Oil & Fats, Metal Processing, Glass, Petroleum Industry, and Power Plants.

In addition, Hydrogenics can offer 150 or 200bar compressors and storage to meet your backup requirement. With our worldwide partnerships, we can also support you in the installation and start-up of the equipment if required and during the operation with our high skilled service team. Our units are offered either for indoor use or in a housing to be installed outdoor with all needed peripherals.

Energy Storage & Hydrogen Fueling

Renewable sources of generation such as wind power provide a viable pathway to reducing our carbon footprint while increasing our energy supply security. Since these resources are intermittent, other resources are needed to balance the electricity supply and load demand throughout the day. Hydrogenics has energy storage and hydrogen fueling solutions to manage this challenge for a large scale transmission grid down to a remote community micro-grid. Power-to-Gas is a hybrid solution which converts surplus renewable generation into hydrogen using electrolysis and then injects the hydrogen into the existing natural gas infrastructure. Hydrogenics brings decades of experience in designing and installing on-site electrolyzes in indoor and containerized outdoor configurations to Power-to-Gas applications.

Lighten your (carbon) footprint – Hydrogenics can help you leverage renewable power sources for clean hydrogen fueling stations to reach your carbon and greenhouse gas reduction targets. Hydrogenics has acquired significant field and technological know-how in renewable hydrogen fueling stations at 350 and 700 bar using electrolysis with over 50 installations worldwide.

Need to be off-grid? A Hydrogenics’ hydrogen energy storage system will complete your alternative energy system for your remote community. If you currently use diesel gensets and want to move to 100% renewable energy. Hydrogen is the common denominator to a cleaner energy future. Our technology provides a link to capitalize on the vast renewable potential of alternative generation sources by leveraging the natural gas system and building a clean transport fueling infrastructure.

Fuel Cell Power Systems

Hydrogenics Fuel Cell Power Systems targets the growing demand for fuel cells in applications that make sense today. Hydrogenics’ trademark low pressure, non-humidified stack technology is at the power-production core of all fuel cell products. The result is industry’s most advanced fuel cell performance that at the same time meets operator expectations for reliability, durability, fuel efficiency, affordability, quiet operation and easy maintenance.

Mobility:

Fleet vehicles such as buses, trucks and forklifts are facing an increasing demand for the kind of zero emission solution that fuel cells can offer. Many other vehicles that operate within special constraints, such as military vehicles, also make a case for using fuel cell systems. With power ranging from 30kW to 180 kW in easy to integrate packages, Hydrogenics has the right solution.

Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) and Telecom Backup Power:

Reliability and small footprint are strong advantages that fuel cells offer compared to diesel and battery systems. Already Hydrogenics has deployed hundreds of systems for customers who have recognized the compelling value that backups systems based on hydrogen provide. With fuel cell systems operating in fleets and utility rooms around the globe, we can show you how Hydrogenics Fuel Cell Power Modules can make your operation cleaner, more efficient and cost effective.
