‘Providing simple, effective, end-to-end EAM solutions for global IT, Energy, Medical, Government and industry.’
Omni-ID is a vendor of passive UHF Radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags. Founded in 2007 as Omni-ID, Ltd., its products are a range of RFID tags designed to operate in all environments, including on metal and liquids.
The company is based on a research unit that was formed within QinetiQ, an international defense technology company that was spun off from the former UK government agency Defense Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) when it was split up in June 2001. The company is based in New York City.
Industrial RFID Tags: Products that Perform
Omni-ID’s portfolio of award-winning, industrial RFID tags offer passive RFID, active RFID and visual tagging options. Combined with its Asset Tracking or ProVIEW Software, Omni-ID’s complete solutions offer a wide range of performance, form factors and workflows to fit any asset tracking, material flow management or compliance application.
Omni-ID’s IoT-based enterprise asset management software has been designed based on customer requirements and can be run as either a stand-alone system or used as separable modules that can directly connect to your existing ERP. Either way, your new asset tracking, inventory and reporting system can be implemented as a simple overlay to your existing infrastructure.
Enterprise Asset Management: In addition to Omni-ID’s broad range of industrial RFID tags, it offers simple and cost effective Asset Tracking software options. The company’s professional services team will work with you to design a solution that is just right for your business – working together with your existing systems and processes. From the oil & gas fields to supporting the largest social media company in the world, Omni-ID has designed and implemented solutions for some of the most challenging asset management applications around the globe.
Omni-ID has the largest portfolio of Passive and Active RFID tags in the industry.
RFID is the most cost-effective of the IoT solutions available. IoT-enabled assets provide you with real-time visibility into asset performance and allow you to effectively manage the entire asset lifecycle. RFID will alert you when that server has been removed from the data center or that tractor-trailer has entered the yard. From the moment an asset enters your facility to the moment it is retired, you have a precise, real-time trail of the condition, location and current value of each asset. This allows you to focus on delivering operational and financial efficiencies that manual tracking cannot provide.
Manual tracking of your inventory can lead to a host of problems:
Not only is RFID one of the most reliable and lowest cost of the options for automating inventory counts and creating business efficiencies, RFID enables an IoT environment of connected machines, devices, objects and applications. This connected network provides you with the data and analytics that help you to make critical business decisions — faster. Those business decisions could involve regular equipment maintenance or replacement, unauthorized movement of assets, along with tracking asset lifecycles to ensure you can bill your customers accurately for usage or to meet leasing agreement requirements.
Omni-ID’s ProVIEW system is the only system solution on the market utilizing a trackable, interactive e-paper tag to provide both asset tracking and dynamic visual instructions – right on the asset. Turn your paper-labeled bins into “smart containers” and know the state, location and condition of every item on the factory floor.
ProVIEW is the first IoT-based system to offer a true paperless workflow for manufacturing. ProVIEW combines the immediate reliability and visual instruction inherent with paper labels along with automated tracking, and capability for two-way human interaction – all inherent in Industrial IoT technologies (and with a 12–18 month ROI!).
What makes ProVIEW different than other Material Flow Management solutions is simple — traditional paper labeling provides simple visual instruction, but with minimal tracking and automation. RFID provides the tracking but fails to provide the visual instruction or two-way communication/verification necessary for workers. Only ProVIEW combines these elements to form a powerful new paradigm — instruct + track + dynamic control — enabling smart manufacturing for an IoT world.
Meet the Master
George E. Daddis, Jr, President and CEO: George is an experienced CEO & entrepreneur, having founded two successful technology companies. He has extensive experience in building companies, raising capital, and establishing markets for digital and IT technologies.
After receiving his B.S., M.S., and PhD. Degrees from Cornell University in Computer Engineering and Applied Mathematics, George began his engineering and management career at Eastman Kodak and subsequently Xerox, building engineering teams for various imaging product lines. These teams focused on quick time-to-market deliveries and “best in class” performance and cost digital product platforms.
In 1998, George founded his first company, InSciTek Microsystems Inc. that provided digital hardware and software design services to Fortune 500 companies such as Sharp Electronics, GE, Kodak, and many other technology companies in the US. In 2003, Allworx Corp was founded from the core of InSciTek and quickly established itself as a national provider of small business VoIP telephone systems – a comprehensive technology firm including R&D, manufacturing, marketing/sales, and customer support functions.
George aggressively grew this VC-backed business to over 75,000 end users with a sales channel of over 900+ dealers throughout North America. In 2007, George successfully sold Allworx Corp to PAETEC, a major national telephone services company headquartered in Rochester, NY. Prior to joining Omni-ID in 2011, George served as CEO at WorldGate Communications, a publicly-held video telephony firm in Philadelphia.
