As the CEO since 2021, Mr. Fulton Collins has led Wellfit through a remarkable evolution. His proactive and intentional vision of attracting talented individuals, streamlining operations, and creating innovative technologies has resulted in significant success.

Prior to joining Wellfit, Mr. Collins enjoyed a distinguished career across various industries that reflect his hands-on, dynamic, and adaptable business approach. As the Chairman and CEO of Network Communications Inc., which owned and operated ApartmentFinder.com and was acquired by the CoStar Group, he helped create the industry’s leading online apartment listing portal. He served as President of Summit Acceptance, a national consumer finance company, which CapitalOne acquired to create CapitalOne Auto Finance. Mr. Collins experience includes running the digital e-learning company Aegis Learning Group, marketing management roles with Nestlé SA, and sales management roles with the E&J Gallo Winery. He has also served as Chairman of the Board for International Oncology Care. Mr. Collins history of success and strategic contributions is a testament to his acumen and vision, making him well-versed to lead the anticipated progression of Wellfit.

Wellfit is a healthcare fintech platform that makes patient financing, dental plans, and payment processing simple, transparent, and cost-effective for providers and patients. Wellfit serves clients in the United States with headquarters in Irving, Texas.

Please tell us about the circumstances or events that led to the founding of Wellfit.

Wellfit was created to fill a need within the dental industry. One of the largest Dental Service Organizations (DSOs) recognized a need for an efficient platform that could offer and manage plans for dental offices. Wellfit was established in 2015 as a solution to fill that void and became a separate entity in 2021 so our solutions could be accessible to all and benefit the broader DSO community.

Q. As a healthcare technology platform, what are Wellfit’s key focus areas?

Our primary focus is on increasing case acceptance at dental offices. We create technologies that simplify and enhance payment solutions for our partners and their patients. Our technology offers affordable and efficient solutions that simplify operations and deliver real-time financial options that were previously labor-intensive and time-consuming. This directly contributes to higher dental case acceptance.

Q. Can you introduce us to your solutions? What are their main features?

Wellfit provides a technology solution that encompasses various payment-related services that seamlessly integrate into the office practice management system (PMS). Wellfit’s solutions include dental plans, patient financing, and payment processing.

With Wellfit’s Dental Plans, dental practices can provide customizable, flexible, and regulatory-compliant dental plans that are easily set up and managed within their PMS. Wellfit’s plans provide full transparency to the patient, so there are no surprises with the plan they choose.

The Financing MarketPlace (FMP) streamlines the patient financing process. Historically customers were obligated to research, apply for, and secure their own payment options. This often resulted in financing dental work with their own credit cards, cash payments, or limited alternative options. FMP provides a seamless experience and multiple financing options ensuring patients get the most competitive terms and increases approval rates.

As a payment facilitator, Wellfit provides a simple point-of-sale device that facilitates credit card processing, touchless payments, and online bill payments. Our payment capabilities unify processes to remove the need for accounting in separate systems, eliminate reconciliations, and avoid potential errors in accounting or patient records.

Where other payment platforms may require multiple technologies and vendors for each component, these bundled solutions enhance workflows for dental practices under one umbrella. We can offer the programs individually, depending on the unique provider configurations and needs.

Q. Can you share how Wellfit has helped their customers overcome challenges?

“Wellfit’s Financing MarketPlace has made it so much easier to present financing options that fit our patient’s budget. It really helps when the patient participates in the process, from selecting the payment type to accepting their approved loan. Patients appreciate our proactive options and find the solutions helpful. The process takes just a few minutes to get them on a flexible payment schedule. We continue to drive revenue and fill seats by allowing our patients to make decisions that work for their budgets.”

 “We see a lot of patients where financial concerns take priority over their oral healthcare needs. Having a plan offered in-office allows us to provide an option for our uninsured or cash-paying patients. Previously, many patients had limited options or would go untreated, but now they can receive the oral treatment care they need. When we can easily provide immediate care and establish a routine care plan, we provide a positive experience for our patients. Our patients gain confidence that they have found a place they trust for their oral care needs, and we create patients for life.”

Q. Tell us about the Wellfit team. What value do they bring to the company?

We have some complementary products in development that are logical add-ons to our current business platform. Wellfit will continue to push transformative enhancements for our industry partners and explore opportunities in adjacent and vertical markets.

Our team continues to exceed customer expectations. Our name recognition is growing within our industry due to our achievements and the trust we have earned from our partnerships. Many would be surprised at the capabilities of a company of our size. Wellfit is poised to further revolutionize the fintech industry.
