Global population is rising exponentially and this has led to the prevalence of respiratory illnesses. Many incidents of chronic diseases like asthma and COPD has grown beyond control and healthcare professionals worldwide are short of high-quality medical devices to treat their patients. Ever-growing demand for more personalized and advanced treatment is also driving the medical device manufacturers to come up with new and improved medical devices with increased performance and efficiency while lowering the cost. While we understand that it is vital to increase the speed and reduce the cost, we must also understand that successful manufacturing can be done only if there is proper quality control in place.

Globally there are various medical devices manufacturers delivering excellent services, but Acare Technology stands out from the rest. Acare Technology is an ISO13485 & GMP certified company with outstanding quality control system in Taiwan. Each unit of its products has been conducted the strictest quality inspection before shipment. The company specializes in respiratory-related products from diagnostic to oxygen therapy equipment to provide you with comprehensive and reliable purchases. Meeting your product requirement is Acare Technology’s priority mission, and your satisfaction is its energy for high-quality service.

"Acare you could trust" is the company's slogan. The team at Acare constantly stands by its customers whenever there's a need. Due to COVID-19 and its Omicron variant, almost everyone globally knows the importance of basic respiratory health care. Every hospital and clinic resource is also tight since elderly patients need more efficient diagnoses and therapy. Acare solution covers a wide range of respiratory product lines. It must ensure that every product in the lineup meets the medical regulation, which can support respiratory disease precaution and avoid oxygen waste in the hospital.

In conversation with Linda Cheng, CEO of Acare Technology

Q. What was the motivation behind starting Acare Technology?

The medical device is related to Hardware design, Software design, and System integration. Health care channels globally are running with a special combination of different expertise. From our accumulated work experience, we wanted to see how much we could contribute to support this industry. This was our motivation.

Q. Can you explain about your services in brief?

We specialize in most elements from Respiratory diagnostic to Respiratory therapy, Pulse Oximeter to Oxygen therapy, and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) therapy. We also supply key components like the SpO2 module and BLDC blower, for constant and reliable manufacturing activities.

Q. How did you decide what types of products you want to make? How did you come up with this name?

In the beginning, the resource was limited. We started from the compact size items such as Finger Pulse Oximeter and Oxygen regulator, which ISO13485 and CE medical regulation were able to cover. Initially, we wanted to name our company "Advanced Care Technology.” Considering the logo length design, we shortened the name to "Acare" with a ribbon to show its continuous growth and upgrading.

Q. What are the factors that affect the pricing of your products?

The factors that affect our pricing are:

  • Ever-increasing raw material cost
  • Engineering expenses
  • Strict medical regulations at each main areas
  • Safety report and high audit cost by the 3rd parties

Q. How do you source quality components for your products?

We have set up a facility in DanYang City, JingSu province, China for the key components of Oxygen regulator, which is one of the main original brass material production area. For other electronic type medical devices like Pulse Oximeter and Auto-CPAP, Taiwan is good at semiconductor designing and production.

Q. Manufacturing for healthcare segment can be a time-consuming especially to make in large quantities. How do you maintain the quality of your products?

Our quality system is certified by ISO13485:2016 latest version and GMP (Good Manufacture Process) certified by the Taiwan government ministry of Health department. FDA audited Acare Taipei facility in 2010, 2013, and 2016 without deviation. To continuously satisfy customer requirements and medical regulation need is our quality policy.

Q. How do you market your services?

Before Covid-19, we used to participate in Arab Health Exhibition in Dubai every January, the CMEF exhibition in China every May, the Taipei exhibition in Taiwan every June, Singapore or Thailand exhibition every September, and the Medica exhibition in Germany every November

Q. Do you have any new services ready to be launched?

Our Bluetooth Handheld type with touch panel and Finger type Pulse Oximeter will be launched soon.

Acare Auto-CPAP (CPA-500) efficiency was 75.8%±15.8% from the clinical cases study conducted by Wei-Sheng Chung, M.D, Ph.D Department of Internal Medicine, Taichung Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Taichung, Taiwan. If shows the efficacy seemed the highest for those patients with severe OSA. The Bluetooth Auto-CPAP will be launched soon too.

Q. What does the future hold for your company and its customers? Are exciting things on the way?

Our future plan is to introduce one mobile App that could be used to see both Pulse Oximeter and Auto-CPAP information at the same time. The doctor or patient could see the Oximetry before CPAP therapy and after the therapy, which could add the CPAP compliance in long-term use and effective OSA therapy.

“To continuously satisfy customer requirements and medical regulation need is our quality policy.”
