In today’s world, technology plays a vital role in every industry as well as in our personal lives. Out of all of the industries, healthcare is definitely one of the most important industries to benefit from technology. It is under revolutionary reform, wherein people are moving towards storing medical records digitally in the form of Digital X-ray, Digital MRI, etc. This merger is responsible for improving and saving countless lives all around the world.

Advancements in medical technology will eventually allow physicians to better diagnose and treat their patients with more efficiency and less time. But even today, despite all the innovative technological advancements the healthcare industry has only been able to touch the tip of the iceberg. To reach the wider population we need a platform which brings together quality medical services, professionals and the population in need.

spoke exclusively to The Silicon Review. Below is an excerpt.

How successful was your first project roll on? Share the experience.

When we started our journey, we knew that in current state there are no such platforms that will empower the users to not only keep health records online but also analyze that data to extract the information. We also knew that there would be slow acceptance, as in India people take health for granted and don’t associate too much importance to it. However, when we launched our Beta version back in 2016, we received a very warm response, and everyone who saw our system was amazed and we garnered great comments like: “Yes, this is what we were looking for a long time”. So our launch was very appreciative, warmly accepted and successful.

“Earning trust and respect of consumers all around the world is through consistent focus on delivering high quality in all of our actions.” How do you interpret this statement?

In the health industry, trust is the key point. I would rather say it’s the backbone of any health service industry to give assurance to the customer that their data is completely safe and private. On Five Fingers has taken this point very seriously and designed this platform where no one can see any data. When I say no one, I mean literally no one, as our backend systems also doesn’t have any module to see user data. Even, doctors cannot see an individual’s data unless he is granted access by a particular user. Therefore, respect for consumers data is something that is not only integrated into the fundamental design of On Five Fingers but also is one of our core value i.e. ‘Commitment’ to keep data secure.

If you have to list five factors that have been/are the biggest asset to your organization, what would they be and why?

Our biggest assets are our core values:

• Commitments – Committed to keeping records completely safe and secure, always.
• Innovation – Pursuing new creative ideas, which have the potential to change the way health services are being offered.
• Respect Individuals – Respect each individual (employee, users, medical practitioners and vendors) by the thoughts that he/she is the key contributor to our success.
• Integrity – Work with honesty and honor without compromising the quality and truth.
• Simplicity – Keep our system, process and behavior simple to provide max benefit to the end customers.

What do you feel are the reasons behind your company’s growth?

Nowadays, people are suffering from many health issues, and in most of the cases, we have observed the statistics that they came to know in the very later stage, where restoration is a challenge. Therefore, we are offering services wherein if people can feed/maintain their health record regularly, our system will project the cautions to alert people and take prevention in advance to avoid diseases. We deliver portal-based analytics on their own health records for them to think where their health is going; and is there anything they need to share with a doctor in advance or not.

I think this is a very unique service, which we are focusing on, and we are exploring how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be leveraged further to project more accurate health statistics.

Where do you see your company a couple of years from now?

We anticipate that with the right focus On Five Fingers will capture a good user base (approx. 1 Million) in the next couple of years. Our offerings are uniquely designed based on what people expect from such a platform; therefore we are confident to stay healthy in the industry.

Jaya S Kumar: Jaya S Kumar, founder, is the Director of On Five Fingers Health Services Pvt Ltd. Jaya is very passionate about promoting and helping mankind.
