It has been estimated that the Indian healthcare will reach 280 billion US$ by 2020 and will create 40 million jobs in India by 2030. While the Ayushman Bharat (National Health Protection Scheme) will alone generate 100,000 jobs, the hospital industry in India stood at Rs 4 trillion in FY17 and is expected to reach Rs 8.6 trillion by FY22.

Q. Why was the company set up, and how did you expand your company and its offerings over the years?

In the mid-1950s, the Indian Healthcare space was merely a medical supplies and consumables market, with no or negligible exposure to new medical and healthcare technologies. There was a great void. Late Mr. P.K. Narula, the founder of SNG India, wanted to reduce and bridge this gap and introduce the latest technologies from world-over to India.

Q. How successful were your project roll-ons? Share the experience.

In our view, every Turnkey solution that we have delivered over the last 65+ years has been a great learning experience. Each execution has not only brought us closer to execution excellence but also closer to our customers where we have executed more as collaborators and partners rather than a pure client-vendor relationship. Q. How do you manage data collection and analysis, as it is one of the biggest challenges healthcare industry is facing?

We not only maintain data for our current customers, pipeline customers but also our customers who have opted for our after-sales service in the form of AMCs and CMCs. In fact, the biggest challenge by far companies face in this space is ensuring consistent service levels and retaining client satisfaction levels to garner repeat business and referrals which go a long way for us to gain market share, profitability, and market penetration.
