Founded in 2016 by Dr. George K. Lewis, ZetrOZ Systems emerged as a transformative force in non-invasive medical technology, driven by a deep-rooted commitment to accessible healthcare solutions. As President and CEO, Dr. Lewis brings a unique blend of engineering and healthcare insights, shaped by a lifelong fascination with technology’s potential to improve well-being. With headquarters in Trumbull, Connecticut, ZetrOZ Systems primarily serves professional and collegiate athletes, as well as those in Workers Compensation and Veterans Affairs, including prominent sports teams among its top clients.

ZetrOZ’s flagship product, Sustained Acoustic Medicine (SAM), provides an innovative solution for managing chronic pain and soft-tissue injuries. SAM is a wearable ultrasound device that offers long-lasting relief through daily use, enabling patients to manage their treatment independently and without the frequent clinical visits typically associated with pain management. This approach is particularly valuable for high-performance athletes and active individuals who seek effective recovery methods without resorting to surgery or medication. ZetrOZ Systems’ commitment to non-invasive care reflects a broader mission to revolutionize pain management and expand access to treatments that support an active, healthy lifestyle.

In conversation with Dr. George K. Lewis, President and CEO of ZetrOZ Systems

Q. ZetrOZ Systems has made significant strides in non-invasive medical devices. Can you elaborate on how the sam® product line stands out in terms of innovation and impact on patient care?

SAM is based on the idea of using mechanical forces to trigger natural healing processes in the body. Unlike traditional treatments that either mask pain or require surgery, SAM focuses on reducing inflammation and promoting tissue repair. The fact that it’s non-invasive means patients can treat themselves consistently at home, which is a game-changer, especially for those in rural areas or in high-demand professions like sports and the military. Our goal is to give people a treatment that fits their lifestyle without compromising on results.

Q. With over 46 patents and partnerships with NASA, the Department of Defense, and other major organizations, how do these collaborations drive your research and development efforts?

Innovation isn’t something you do alone. Over the years, we’ve partnered with NASA, the Department of Defense, and various healthcare institutions to push our technology forward. These relationships have been critical in helping us fund research, conduct clinical studies, and stay ahead in a competitive industry. With over 46 patents in our portfolio, we’re proud to be bringing some of the most advanced medical technologies to life. These collaborations inspire us to keep pushing boundaries and exploring new ways to improve healthcare.

Q. ZetrOZ Systems is committed to producing 100% of its devices in the U.S. How does this commitment influence the quality, scalability, and accessibility of your products?

Manufacturing entirely in the U.S. allows us to maintain tight control over quality and ensure regulatory compliance. It also makes it easier to scale up and meet market demands quickly. I believe that patients deserve products they can trust, and manufacturing locally gives us that control. We’re committed to not just innovation but also reliability—our goal is to make sure our devices are always available and effective for those who need them.

Q. What challenges has ZetrOZ Systems faced in achieving widespread adoption of your wearable bioelectronic devices, and how have you addressed these challenges?

Every innovative company faces its share of challenges, and we’re no exception. One of the biggest hurdles has been navigating the regulatory landscape and scaling production while maintaining precision. It’s been a learning process, but the strong relationships we’ve built with healthcare providers have made a huge difference. Their early support has helped us gain traction and deliver our devices to a wider range of patients. We’ve stayed focused on refining our processes to ensure that every product we make meets the highest standards.

Q. How does ZetrOZ Systems ensure that its devices remain affordable and accessible, especially considering your goal to help 100 million patients with sustained acoustic medicine?

Accessibility is at the core of what we do. Our mission is to help 100 million patients, and that means offering solutions that are both affordable and easy to use. Since SAM is a non-surgical, self-applied treatment, it eliminates many of the costs associated with hospital visits or traditional therapies. We’ve designed our technology so that it can reach people even in remote areas, empowering them to manage their health independently.

Q. What role do you see ZetrOZ Systems playing in the evolving landscape of telemedicine and remote healthcare, especially with your focus on wearable, non-invasive devices?

Telemedicine is the future, and our wearable devices are perfectly suited for this shift. With SAM, patients can treat themselves from the comfort of their homes, without the need for frequent in-person appointments. I see our technology playing a major role in remote care, offering a seamless way for people to take control of their recovery. As healthcare moves toward more decentralized models, we’re ready to support that transition with practical, patient-friendly solutions.

Q. What does the future hold for your company and its customers? Are exciting things on the way?

We have a lot to look forward to. We’re constantly working on new innovations and expanding into new markets. My vision is to continue making non-surgical, non-narcotic treatments more available to millions of people around the world. Our growing portfolio of patents and ongoing clinical research will help us stay at the forefront of healthcare innovation. The goal is simple: help people heal faster, recover stronger, and get back to living their lives fully.
