Q. What was the motivation behind starting Garza Law Firm?

Garza Law Firm was started because oftentimes, life happens. Court actions can affect your job, family, liberty, and rights. We’re very mindful of the effect criminal charges can have on your life, both now and in the future, and work to. Often a court action can feel like the most uncertain time in your life. The motivation behind our team is to help settle some of the uncertainty and find the best possible outcomes and fight for them.

Q. Can you explain about your services in brief?

Our primary areas of practice are DUI/DWI defense, criminal defense, and personal injury. In each separate division of our firm, we work tirelessly through the use of experts, investigators, technology, and the law to achieve the best possible outcome in each type of case.

Q. Technology has transformed the practice of law. Which are some of the technologies that have helped you improve your services?

Since the outbreak of Covid-19, our court system has utilized Zoom and Microsoft Teams to conduct court hearings, mainly for safety and prevention. It has become a much utilized tool; however, primarily as a smaller firm, we have clients and cases all over East Tennessee and allows us to represent our clients better, as we are able to reach them and, at times, their court dates when otherwise there may have been time conflicts.

Q. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful leader?

Authenticity
Awareness – self and of others
Decisiveness

I strive to exhibit these three characteristics in almost everything I do. My goals remain client-oriented, and each day I work to make it visible in the way I speak, conduct myself with my co-workers, and present myself to clients. My ultimate goal is to help people.

Q. How did you manage to form your dream team?

By looking for similar qualities in a leader in each team member. Particularly in the criminal division – each of us is capable of working on things on our own, as well as together. No one of us would be able to function without the others, and we are able to assist when there is too much of a caseload on any given day in any given county. We remain up to speed on each other’s cases to be able to jump in and lend a hand or pick up a court date when things inevitably pop up, as they do when working in a profession that is people-oriented.

Q. About adaptability, how do you stay relevant to the consumer interests and needs in this highly volatile market?

As unfortunate as it may seem, there will likely always be a need for legal services. However, we stay relevant by offering the highest quality services we can, offering care and passion to every client that we represent.

Q. How do you market your services?

Our firm uses commercials that run on television and online. These are aimed to reach many different groups of people who may be impacted by many types of cases, all of which can be handled by our firm. Also, with billboards and signs, our firm has advertising out there because we want people to know that we are there to help.

Q. What does the future hold for your company and its customers? Are exciting things on the way?

Our firm has continued to grow over the last several years and ideally will continue to as time goes on. We’ve acquired excellent attorneys and staff that not only care about our clients but the quality of work that we do each and every day.

Dominic A. Garduño, Attorney at Law, Garza Law Firm. He double-majored during his undergraduate studies at Northern Arizona University and earned his bachelor’s degrees in American Political Studies as well as Criminology and Criminal Justice. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law in 2020.

During his time at the Duncan School of Law, Dominic led a primary focus on trial advocacy. Dominic served as the Executive President of LMU Law school’s Mock Trial organization where he was ultimately awarded Duncan School of Law’s Trial Advocacy Excellence Award for Best All-Around Advocate. During his studies, Dominic also served as a summer law clerk for the Honorable Charles A. Cerny, Jr.

Upon passing the Tennessee bar exam in 2020, Mr. Garduño joined the Garza Law Firm team where he is committed to serving his clients and building enduring relationships. At Garza Law, his practice includes DUI defense, United States Law Shield representation, and other criminal defense matters.
