How it all started?

It was in the year 1985 that Amara Raja made its humble beginning. Its founder and Chairman Dr.Ramachandra N Galla returned from the USA with the expressed purpose of making a difference by ushering development in his homeland at Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. He firmly believed that apart from business objectives, entrepreneurs had an underlying responsibility towards empowering people and advancing social goals. The first manufacturing facility and office were established in a remote village Karakambadi, 12 km from the holy town of Tirupati. 

The Amara Raja group has now has expanded to a large conglomerate touching millions of lives.

Amara Raja Batteries Ltd: With 26% equity each from the Galla Family and Johnson Controls, Amara Raja Batteries Limited (ARBL) is the technology leader and one of the largest manufacturers of lead-acid batteries for both industrial and automotive applications in the Indian storage battery industry.

The Company is a leading manufacturer of automotive batteries and home UPS/Inverter batteries under the brands Amaron and PowerZoneTM, which are distributed through pan-India sales and service retail network. ARBL supplies automotive batteries under OE relationships to Ford India, Honda, Hyundai, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Ashok Leyland, and Tata Motors, Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India Private Ltd, Royal Enfield, Bajaj Auto Ltd among others. ARBL is also the leading private label supplier for prominent brands.

In India, ARBL is the preferred supplier to major telecom service providers, telecom equipment manufacturers, the UPS sector (OEM & Replacement), Indian Railways and to the Power, Oil and Gas, Motive among other industry segments.

Amara Raja Electronics Ltd: Amara Raja Electronics Limited (AREL) is a technologically progressive company with a business focus in Electronic Systems Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) with Global footprint. The 20,000 squaremeter manufacturing facility is located in Diguvamagham, Chittoor, which is well connected to National Highway, Airport, and Sea Ports and is also strategically located between Bengaluru and Chennai.

AREL specializes in the end-to-end design, prototyping, sourcing, turnkey manufacturing, testing of high-reliability PCBAs, box build, products and systems integration services, re-engineering/ obsolescence management and logistics solutions, delivering superior quality and support primarily in the communications networks, medical, industrial and automotive sectors.

The workforce of AREL, comprising of women in the majority, are trained in specializedskillsets in PCB Assembly - resulting in non-migratory employment opportunities in rural India.

Amara Raja Industrial Services Pvt Ltd:Amara Raja Industrial Services Private Limited (ARISPL) is into the business of facility management and other allied services in support to Amara Raja Infra and independently, providing holistic management services to properties of all sizes, from hospitality to resource and support, waste management, landscaping and more. ARISPL, with an effective management team, specializes in setting up of systems and processes as per building regulations and guidelines.

Meet the Leader

HarshavardhanaGourineni, Managing Director, and Chief Executive Officer:Harsha is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Mangal Industries. Mangal is part of the Amara Raja Group located in India. Harsha is a member of the promoter family. Having grown up and studied in the US, Harsha moved to India in 2015 to join the group. His prime objective is to grow his company through both organic and inorganic means by building new partnerships, entering new markets, and acquiring more customers.

He has done his graduation in Psychology from Purdue University.
