Technology is evolving rapidly, which means it can be difficult to keep up with the latest trends. Businesses now understand that they must stay updated, but what are the ways they can keep up with the latest trends? Certain specialist media platforms exist to analyze, interpret, record and track the latest developments in technology; technical communities generally discuss day-to-day occurrences in the tech segment. The main idea behind these platforms and their communities is to provide businesses with the necessary information about the latest in technology and connect professionals worldwide.

Globally, there are various providers specializing in providing platforms to technical communities, but MediaOps stands out from its counterparts. MediaOps is an omniversal media company covering the IT industries and practices that are reshaping the world of technology. The company specifically focuses on DevOps, Cloud Native, Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation markets. MediaOps helps to build these communities by delivering meaningful news and content to the leaders and practitioners in these communities while engaging the ecosystem of academia, industry, and partners. MediaOps was founded in 2013 and is based in Boca Raton, Florida.

In conversation with Alan Shimel, Founder, CEO, and Editor-in-Chief of MediaOps

Q. How do you create engaging content? And how do you assess the quality of the content?

Impactful content is the foundation of our business. Our content is managed by Charlene O’Hanlon, our Chief Content Officer and Managing Editor, and is derived from many sources, including MediaOps original sources, industry luminaries, practitioners and leaders. We monitor all of our content assets for digital performance and conversions.

Q. What makes MediaOps different from other media firms focused on IT?

Through a convergence of new media content and a variety of distribution platforms, we engage IT professionals looking for fresh insights and new skills with the content they need to stay abreast of the rapidly accelerating pace of change in IT. All MediaOps content is freely accessible in multiple device formats, from custom apps for smartphones and tablets, channels on popular streaming platforms and, of course, via web browsers.

Q. How do you ensure that you are reaching your audience?

It starts with the format, and today, video is the preferred method for digital citizens to consume content. As the consequences of this “new normal” flow through the traditional technical media community, more and more news, education and entertainment will be produced, delivered and watched via video streaming. This disruption will also create new winners and losers. Companies seeking to reach the digital audience via video will need a solid partner that can handle all aspects of video production, streaming and distribution. MediaOps offers video production and distribution. For viewers and subscribers, we utilize ML/AI (machine learning/artificial intelligence)-powered functionality to offer suggested relevant educational and informative content personalized to each viewer based on viewing history. For sponsors, we are able to produce and/or distribute content for both branding and lead generation campaigns. The MediaOps platform will feature both original content as well as third-party partner content. We support multiple device formats with custom apps for smartphones and tablets, channels on popular streaming platforms/hardware, and, of course, via the web browser.

Q. What other services do you offer?

Accelerated Strategies Group - Accelerated Strategies Group (AccelST) was launched with the mission of disrupting the technology analyst market by utilizing the same principles of the open source, free model now prevalent in the greater technology/software market. Q. Do you have any new services ready to be launched?

Later this year, we will launch a C-level-focused brand and site. The chief information officer sets the technology goals of the business, then plans and oversees key IT projects to achieve those goals. As technology becomes more vital to enterprise success, demand is soaring for forward-thinking CIOs who can interpret the company’s business needs, then find and implement cutting-edge IT solutions to fill them. We will focus on the shared experiences and education requirements for the chief information officer role, recognizing that CIOs need an agile strategic mindset, strong leadership ability, superior communication skills and high acumen in both technology and business.

Q. What does the future hold for your company and its customers? Are exciting things on the way?

There are great things ahead for MediaOps as digital transformation accelerates and the people responsible for leading and implementing technology have a growing need to stay abreast of what is coming and how they and their businesses need to adapt and thrive. This, combined with the changes that are driving the way we all communicate, offers MediaOps the unique opportunity to live at the cross-section of IT and communication technologies.
