More than a name, he provided crucial connections—introducing Jordan to Tomasz Tunguz, who would lead the seed investment, and to DuckDB’s creators, Hannes Mühleisen and Mark Raasveldt. With DuckDB Labs focused on building the world’s best analytics database, the partnership was a natural fit. Jordan brought cloud expertise, while Hannes and Mark contributed world-class database engineering. Together, they embarked on a mission to create an unparalleled serverless analytics solution.

The journey from concept to reality required assembling a team of top-tier engineers and industry veterans. The first to join was Tino Tereshko, another Google BigQuery alumnus.
