Education is the initial step for every human and PSB Academy focuses exactly on that. Once known as Singapore’s Productivity and Standards Board is now known as “The Future Academy”, with an approach to education that focuses on what really matters and that is the performance in the New Economy. In 2017, the Academy was conferred “Education Institution of the Year” by APAC Insider and earned 2 consecutive SBR National Business Awards in 2017/18 in the Education category for outstanding work in the region. Today, it hosts over 12,000 students from over 50 nationalities with its slate of certificate, diploma, degree and postgraduate programmes every year.

Students from the Academy enjoy excellent graduation outcomes: in 2017, close to 8 in 10 graduates found employment within six months of graduation; and close to 7 in 10 graduates said the skills and knowledge they acquired helped them perform better at work (GES 2017).

 In 2017, it marked an expansion to a City Campus at Marina Square spanning over 100,000 square feet. This signalled the Academy’s mission to make the idea of productivity relevant again, with a future-oriented brand of education to prepare students for a disrupted age. The campus was launched by Guest of Honour, National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) Secretary-General Chan Chun Sing, along with PSB Academy’s university and industry partners.

Most recently in 2018, as part of PSB Academy's continued growth, the institute relocated its Delta Campus to a new multi-million dollar 50,000 square foot lab-based facility in Central Singapore, at Jackson Square in Toa Payoh. PSB Academy's STEM Campus hosts its Schools of Engineering and Technology as well as School of Life and Physical Sciences. Dedicated to studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, our STEM campus will host upgraded laboratories and facilities for learning, experimentation and discovery.

The Chairman of the Institute

Mr Viva Sinniah

He has more than 20 years of experience at senior levels in several domains such as the public sector, hospitality, education and healthcare.  An accomplished leader, he has transformed organisations, helping them bring about solid and sustainable growth.

Viva has an excellent track record of producing change, attracting and nurturing talent and developing highly driven and focused teams.  In his previous appointment in the healthcare sector, he brought about transformation in the organisation resulting in the increase of the organisation’s capacity and capability. He obtained his BA (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Sydney. He has attended post-graduate executive education programmes at Harvard Business School and was invited to attend the International Visitor Leadership Programme in the United States in 2000.
