Founded in 2008 by President Ted de Vos, SIMNET Inc. was established with a clear purpose: to build the kind of technology company businesses genuinely need. At the time, too many IT providers were focused on selling products, and too few were focused on understanding the client’s business and delivering the right solution. SIMNET was built on a different belief—that technology should be simple, practical, and aligned with business goals. From the very beginning, the company has focused on reducing technological complexity rather than adding to it, helping organizations modernize with confidence while maintaining the stability and reliability of the systems they depend on. That philosophy has guided SIMNET’s evolution from a Canadian technology company into a global cloud, cybersecurity, and managed technology solutions provider. Today, SIMNET supports customers across North America, Europe, APAC, and Africa through a globally distributed cloud platform designed to deliver performance, security, sovereignty, and accountability.

Rather than forcing organizations into rigid, one-size-fits-all architectures, SIMNET develops secure, high-performance environments that align with each customer’s operational, regulatory, and business requirements. The company’s vision of Cloud Without Compromise reflects its commitment to delivering security, sovereignty, accountability, and performance without sacrificing flexibility, allowing organizations to embrace digital transformation while preserving business continuity and minimizing operational risk. As technology ecosystems become increasingly fragmented and organizations face growing cybersecurity, compliance, and infrastructure challenges, SIMNET remains focused on simplifying technology adoption through integrated solutions that reduce vendor complexity and create resilient, future-ready digital environments designed for long-term success.

Today, SIMNET supports organizations across financial services, healthcare, government, SaaS, enterprise, and managed service markets that require secure sovereign and hybrid cloud solutions while modernizing legacy infrastructure.

By bringing cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, compliance, managed services, and infrastructure modernization together under a single accountable operating model, SIMNET has earned the trust of companies across the world, including Schneider Electric, Polaris Transportation Group, Oshawa Clinic Group, Resolve Financial Recovery, NewOrg Management System, Evanston Technology Group, Prophix, PROSERV360, DontMatter, PrimeTel, and various state, local, and federal government agencies.

Guided by Ted de Vos’s belief that organizations should never have to disrupt what already works simply to embrace innovation, SIMNET partners closely with customers to architect technology environments that support business objectives rather than complicate them. This customer-first approach emphasizes long-term relationships built on transparency, technical excellence, accountability, and measurable business outcomes.

In conversation with Ted de Vos, President of SIMNET Inc.

SIMNET occupies a unique position as both an Independent Software

Vendor (ISV) and a Managed Cloud Service Provider (MCSP). How does this combination benefit customers and partners?

SIMNET occupies a unique position because we’re both an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and a Managed Cloud Service Provider (MCSP).

We develop and adopt industry-leading platforms including SIMNET Cloud™, SIMNET Cloud Control™, and SIMNET AI™, while designing, operating, securing, and supporting the environments they run on. This integrated approach gives customers something few providers can offer: a single point of accountability.

That gives customers something increasingly valuable - a single point of accountability.

In conversation with Ted de Vos, Founder and

President of SIMNET Inc.

Security firms, and managed service organizations, they work with one partner that designs the platform, operates the infrastructure, and remains accountable for the outcome.

We communicate in business language rather than technical jargon.

We simplify complexity wherever possible.

We believe customers should understand why they are making technology decisions- not simply be told what to buy.

If customers leave every conversation with greater clarity than when they arrived, we have done our job.

Accountability & Execution

Because we own both the software and the underlying cloud platform, we can innovate faster, resolve issues more efficiently, and continuously improve the customer experience.

Security, governance, automation, and lifecycle management are built into the platform rather than layered on afterward.

Our philosophy is simple: The customer owns the vision. SIMNET owns the execution.

As concerns around sovereignty, compliance, and cybersecurity continue to grow, what role should a trusted technology partner play?

Technology is no longer an IT decision. It is a business decision. Organizations need partners that provide clarity, experience, and accountability - not simply products. One of the biggest challenges organizations face today is being overwhelmed with information while lacking the context needed to act on it.

Cybersecurity is a perfect example. Organizations don’t need more alerts or more reports—they need better decisions. That philosophy influences every platform we build and adopt, helping customers simplify complexity, reduce risk, and execute with confidence.

We build platforms to generate meaningful operational intelligence rather than overwhelming users with data. Our focus is helping organizations prioritize risk, streamline operations, and make informed decisions quickly and confidently.

Trust is not something you claim. It is something you earn through transparency, consistency, expertise, and execution. That’s why customers rely on us not just for technology, but for judgment, execution, and accountability.

Global Reach. Local Accountability.

SIMNET has expanded globally while remaining Canadian-owned and operated. How have you balanced global reach with local accountability?

Technology may be global, but business requirements are always local.

Whether supporting Canadian enterprises, European healthcare providers, or multinational software companies, every customer expects flexibility, control, and accountability.

Today, SIMNET supports customers across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, India, Singapore, South Africa, and Australia through a consistent cloud platform, governance framework, pricing model, and support experience.

Remaining Canadian-owned has always mattered to me.

It allows customers direct access to decision-makers and ensures we are accountable for every engagement, regardless of where that customer operates.

Organizations should not have to choose between global capability and personal accountability.

They should expect both.

Your philosophy has always been that technology should empower rather than intimidate organizations. How does that belief influence the customer experience?

Technology should make organizations more capable - not more confused.

Technology Should Enable Business

That philosophy influences every product we build and every customer interaction we have.

We communicate in business language rather than technical jargon.

We simplify complexity wherever possible.

We believe customers should understand why they are making technology decisions - not simply be told what to buy.

If customers leave every conversation with greater clarity than when they arrived, we have done our job.

Looking ahead, what major shifts will define enterprise infrastructure over the next five years?

Three trends stand out.

Artificial Intelligence will become embedded throughout every business.

Hybrid infrastructure will become the standard operating model as organizations balance performance, sovereignty, compliance, and economics.

Trust and accountability will become increasingly important as organizations look for technology partners capable of governing complexity and taking responsibility for execution.

The future will belong to those who execute with discipline, govern effectively, and simplify complexity.

SIMNET has remained privately owned while expanding globally. How

has that independence influenced the company?

Being privately owned allows us to think in decades rather than quarters. It gives us the freedom to invest based on what’s right for our customers, our employees, and the long-term health of the business - not short-term market expectations.

It also gives us the ability to say no. We don’t pursue every trend, every acquisition, or every opportunity. We focus on initiatives that strengthen our platform and create lasting value.

Growth has never been the objective on its own.

Building a company that customers can trust for decades has always been the mission.

For me, success isn’t measured by how large SIMNET becomes.

It’s measured by the trust we earn and the impact we have on the organizations that choose us as their technology partner.

The Future of Enterprise Infrastructure

Artificial Intelligence

AI will become embedded throughout every business.

Through SIMNET AI, organizations can explore private AI, governed AI, and AI-enabled operations aligned with security, sovereignty, and control. Based on Ted’s view that successful adoption requires purpose and discipline, not just access to technology.

Hybrid Infrastructure

Organizations will increasingly balance performance, sovereignty, compliance, and economics through hybrid operating models that allow them to modernize while maintaining control of data, architecture, and pace of change.

Trust & Accountability

The technology partners of the future will be defined not by infrastructure alone, but by execution, governance, transparency, accountability, and measurable customer outcomes.

Ted’s Truths

  • Businesses shouldn’t have to break what works to modernize.

  • Technology should adapt to the business, not the other way around.

  • Technology creates opportunity. Execution turns opportunity into results.

  • The customer owns the vision. SIMNET owns the execution.

  • Access is no longer the challenge. Execution is.

  • Fast infrastructure impresses. Fast support retains.

  • Trust is earned through transparency, consistency, and execution.

  • Complexity is the hidden tax on innovation.

  • The future belongs to organizations that execute with discipline, govern effectively, and simplify complexity.

  • Success is not measured by the technology you buy. It’s measured by the outcomes you achieve.

Ted de Vos
is the Founder and President of SIMNET Inc., a Canadian-owned Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and Managed Cloud Service Provider (MCSP) dedicated to helping organizations modernize with confidence. With more than 25 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and business strategy, Ted has helped organizations align technology investments with business outcomes while simplifying complexity and reducing risk.

Since founding SIMNET in 2008, Ted has transformed the company from a Canadian technology provider into a global technology company delivering sovereign, private, hybrid, and managed cloud solutions to customers across North America, the European Union, the United Kingdom, India, Australia, and South Africa, with Singapore planned for 2027.

Under Ted’s leadership, SIMNET has evolved into a global ISV and managed cloud provider, combining platforms including SIMNET Cloud, SIMNET Cloud Control, and SIMNET AI with the expertise to design, secure, operate, and support customer environments worldwide. This combination of software innovation and operational execution gives customers something increasingly rare in today’s technology landscape: a single, accountable partner responsible for both the platform and the outcome.

Throughout his career, Ted has championed a practical approach to digital transformation. Rather than encouraging organizations to replace systems that continue to create value,he advocates modernizing with purpose—aligning technology investments with business objectives while preserving what already works. He believes technology should create freedom, not dependency, which is why he has consistently championed architectures that allow organizations to own their technology stack, maintain control of their data, and evolve at their own pace.

As a privately owned company, SIMNET has the freedom to think in years rather than quarters, investing in sustainable innovation, disciplined execution, and long-term customer success rather than short-term market expectations.

As SIMNET continues to expand through organic growth and strategic acquisitions, Ted remains guided by the same principles that inspired the company nearly two decades ago: simplify complexity, reduce risk, execute with discipline, and help organizations modernize with clarity, confidence, and control.

“Businesses shouldn’t have to break what works to modernize. At SIMNET, we meet customers where they are, help them maintain control of their technology future, and architect a path forward that fits.”
