This is especially beneficial for individuals who have mobile jobs or are migrant workers who have just been relocated to a new city. Cityfurnish is one such rental service that caters to all the furniture needs for a fraction of the cost and without the flaws of rented products.Cityfurnish is a startup brand that addresses this and endeavors to solve it by providing furniture, furnishings and home appliances on rent so that the consumers can invest on meaningful experiences. It was founded by Neerav Jain and Saurabh Gupta in September 2015.
The company has raised an amount of seed funding from Brand Capital, the investment arm of conglomerate, Bennett coleman and Co.LTD. (Times Group) Manoj Gupta, Director, credit Suisse also participated in series a round of funding. It has expanded its services to Mumbai and has seen a phenomenal growth, growing at a rate of 10% month-on-month. “FY 2017-18 was a great year for us; we doubled our revenue to INR 9.5 Cr in comparison to the revenue generated for the earlier financial year 2016-2017 which was Rs 4.2 Cr. We are targeting at 18 Cr for this financial year”, saidNeerav Jain, Cityfurnish founder.

How successful was your first project? Share the experience.
My first project was an online customized furniture portal started with Saurabh in early 2015. We had to close it due to the lack of scalability and operational bandwidth. It taught us the importance of Customer Delight and the business fundamentals. It was a big stepping stone for Cityfurnish.
Any company, big or small, must have the sense of authenticity and originality to succeed. In the light of the statement, is your company a leader or a follower?
We procure superior quality woods in making furniture by using fine quality solid sheesham wood for the furniture. We are the only players in the segment to provide office furniture. Our approach is to emerge as a leader in the industry and serve as a one stop solution to the furniture and furnishings needs from both residential and commercial perspective.

Absolutely! It’s all about providing valuable experience to our end customers as well as listening to their feedback and working upon them. We want to provide them the best quality experience in every aspect whether it’s our customer support or delivering products on time. We regularly conduct consumer surveys to improve our services.
We are always looking forward for our customers’ feedbacks. We try and provide an amazing experience to each of our customers. We conduct surveys from time to time with our customers to get new ideas and work upon the things where we are lacking. Customer satisfaction is our first priority.
Between ever-increasing market sophistication, needs, and diversified customer base, many business and IT leaders don't know what they really have—even when they think they do. How do you manage to resist/serve the needs of highly volatile market?
KISS – Keep it Seriously Simple! We focus on the customer and the need of the customer and always have a mode for connecting and understanding the customer. This will enable you to focus on the key business goals easily.

Do you have any new products ready to be/getting ready to be launched?
We are consistently adding new products in our existing categories and we are also planning to add IT peripherals like laptops, computers and camping gear to our bouquet of products.
As a question on sustainability, where do you see your company in a couple of years from now?
We are planning to expand to nine more cities and increase our debt of products. We want to provide our customer a great variety of products, so that they can refurnish their houses every year without putting any burden to their pockets.

Meet The Man behind Cityfurnish’s Success
Neerav Jain, Founder
Neerav was born and brought up in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, a city famous for majestic forts and splendid furniture. With family roots deep in furniture industry, Neerav always had an inclination to bring the concept of renting in the furniture space. This idea was further established when Neerav moved from Jodhpur to Delhi to study in Delhi University; he had to move all of his furniture with him. After graduating, he then had to move them back. A series of personal experiences like these along with using rented furniture while in Holland for a summer stay incepted the idea in his head and in September, 2015 he began working on deploying the same in India.
