Sooner or later, your small business will need more space for data storage. Information in the form of e-mails, documents, presentations, databases, graphics, audio files, and spreadsheets is the lifeblood of most companies, and the applications that run and protect your business require a lot of disk space. Be it any business, big or small, it should first assess the storage needs associated with their applications, their data, and how and where they need to access that data. Storing information and managing its storage is critical to a company’s behind-the-scenes success. Fortunately, there are many options available to small businesses for both the actual storage and the location of that storage.

Versity is the leading independent provider of advanced, scalable, high throughput software-defined archiving storage technology solutions for large archiving sites around the world. Organizations leverage Versity Storage Manager to implement low-cost large scale data preservation strategies for long term storage and retrieval of data in both on-premise and hybrid cloud environments. Reliable and scalable products furnished by Versity

Versity Storage Manager

Versity Storage Manager (VSM) is a next-generation large scale archive data management tool for cost-effectively protecting massive data collections on any mix of storage devices and cloud services. VSM interfaces with existing enterprise business applications and backup solutions through a standard POSIX file system interface, making it easy to expose low-cost archival storage resources to end-users. Rich and flexible archive policies optimize the flow of data both in and out of cloud storage services and archival storage devices such as tape libraries, disk arrays, and on-premise object storage systems.

VSM’s ability to broker data across a diverse mix of archival storage systems enables customers to optimize performance, reliability, and cost factors for different types of data and different users while always maintaining independence from storage hardware vendors and cloud providers. VSM is engineered for maximum utilization of storage and networking hardware.

ScoutFS

It is a scale-out file system designed to handle the metadata workloads of the future. It is a POSIX, open-source GPL, in kernel, block file system designed specifically for archiving. Metadata is processed on all nodes or a subset of nodes in a VSM2 cluster. There is neither central metadata controller nor any single point of failure. ScoutFS introduces many outstanding new capabilities by radically increasing the number of POSIX files that can be reliably maintained in a single namespace.

Versity Archive Fabric Module™

Versity’s Archive Fabric Module™ (AFM) is a powerful data mover that can efficiently move data into archival storage and help free up valuable space on primary storage systems. AFM accomplishes work with two easy to use functions: identification and movement.

The AFM utility analyzes and provides information on external file systems, identifying infrequently used data sets that are strong candidates for archiving. A browser-based report presents statistics based on file age, access time, modification time, and other file attributes. This information helps the users or administrators identify data that should be moved to the archive tier. AFM also orchestrates the movement of data from primary storage systems to archival storage systems.

Versity Partners

Versity forms alliances with system providers and integrators around the world. The company’s network spans from large to small but all with one thing in common: with a mission-driven to provide a powerful, scalable and Performant archiving solution.
