Founded in 2021 by Erik Reid and Kevin Wright, Virtustant LLC is redefining remote staffing by making it more accessible, transparent, and dependable for growing businesses. Selected by The Silicon Review for its prestigious issue, Innovative Companies to Watch 2026, Virtustant stands out for its practical approach to helping US companies build high-performing remote teams without the traditional costs and complexities of recruitment. Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, with recruiting operations in Argentina, the company serves businesses with 5 to 200 people, including agencies, law firms, accounting and CPA firms, real estate teams, e-commerce brands, healthcare practices, and professional services organizations. Its journey began when co-founder Erik Reid, then working as a financial analyst while running an e-commerce business, encountered the challenges of finding reliable virtual support. Frustrated by high placement fees, hidden markups, and limited accountability after hiring, Reid partnered with Kevin Wright, whose experience in international education, recruitment, and cross-border team management helped shape a more client-focused alternative. After an initial recruiting pilot in the Philippines revealed the limitations of significant time-zone differences, the founders evaluated international markets and identified Argentina and Brazil as stronger fits for US businesses seeking professionals who could work their hours. This willingness to learn, adapt, and build around customer needs has become central to Virtustant’s operating philosophy.
Today, Virtustant offers end-to-end remote staffing services across executive and virtual assistance, customer service, sales development, bookkeeping, marketing, design, and development. Its streamlined process begins with a discovery call to define the role, followed by a shortlist of three to five vetted candidates, client interviews, and a rapid start date. The company differentiates itself through a transparent pricing model with no upfront placement fees, all-in hourly rates starting at $7, weekly invoicing, and flexible month-to-month terms. With shortlists typically delivered within 48 hours, placements able to start within 72 hours, and a lifetime replacement guarantee without a time limit, Virtustant aims to provide both speed and long-term hiring confidence. Clients can save up to 70% compared with a comparable US hire, making global talent more attainable for growing organizations. Its client portfolio includes Morgan Stanley, Li-Lac Chocolates, Figmints, EPI Group, Five Star Bath Solutions, HALO, Officer Reports, Superior Fence & Rail, Miss Universe Skincare, and Jackson’s Snack Super. At The Silicon Review, we recognize Virtustant LLC for addressing a persistent business challenge with a model built around transparency, flexibility, and measurable value. Its combination of carefully vetted talent, accessible pricing, and continued placement support reflects the evolving needs of modern businesses. Through its inclusion in Innovative Companies to Watch 2026, we acknowledge Virtustant’s commitment to making remote staffing simpler and more effective for companies seeking to grow with confidence.

In conversation with Erik Reid, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Virtustant LLC
In an industry where many providers stop at the placement, how has staying responsible for the contract, payroll and paperwork after the placement strengthened both client trust and long-term retention?
We don’t stop at the placement. Once someone is hired, we handle the contract, payroll and paperwork on the professional’s side, so the client directs the work and pays one weekly invoice. We aren’t the employer, and we say so plainly, but we stay accountable for the placement. It also keeps the client’s side light: no foreign payroll to set up and no international transfers to manage.
The lifetime replacement guarantee is what turns that into trust. If a hire doesn’t work out, in month two or year three, we run the search again at no fee. That aligns our incentive with the client’s: we only do well when placements last, so we vet for fit, not just for speed.

Your four-stage vetting process is designed to identify the top 1% of applicants. What qualities and capabilities do you believe distinguish an exceptional remote professional from simply a qualified candidate?
Top 1% is a measured funnel, not a slogan. Of every 100 applicants, 22 clear a recruiter screen with a live English conversation, 9 pass a cognitive (IQ) assessment and a role skills test, 3 reach a live interview, and 1 is hired. Client-facing roles require C1 or C2 English.
A qualified candidate can do the tasks in the job description. An exceptional one learns the client’s systems fast, flags a problem before it becomes a surprise, and makes the judgment calls a manager would agree with. That’s why we test reasoning and not only skills: tools change every year, and the ability to pick them up doesn’t. We’d rather present three people a client wants to hire than thirty they have to sort through.
With a strong focus on bilingual Latin American professionals, how does Virtustant help businesses access global talent while maintaining cultural alignment, communication, and productivity?
Time zone comes first. Argentina and Brazil run one to two hours ahead of US Eastern time and Mexico and Colombia sit on Central time, so our professionals work the client’s business day, not overnight. Customer service, sales and executive support depend on that overlap.
Our talent base is led by Argentina, with professionals across 18 Latin American countries plus South Africa and the Philippines. English is tested live before anything else, and the interview stage checks how someone communicates, not only what they know. Then the hire works inside the client’s own team, tools and routines from week one. That’s where alignment happens: same hours, same channels, and same standups.
In a market where staffing providers often compete primarily on cost, what makes Virtustant’s value proposition fundamentally different, and how do you ensure that affordability never comes at the expense of talent quality?
We publish our prices so cost stops being the conversation. Starting rates are public: from $7 an hour for virtual assistants and customer service, from $8 for sales development, and from $8.50 for executive assistants and bookkeepers. The final rate depends on the role, the hours and the skills, and we scope it before anyone signs.
The savings come from the market, not from the vetting. Every candidate goes through the same four stages whatever the rate, and the lifetime guarantee means a weak hire costs us, not the client. A cheap placement that has to be replaced twice isn’t cheap.
Virtustant has been recognized for significant growth while expanding its client and talent base. What does being featured among the “Innovative Companies to Watch 2026” mean to the team, and what aspect of your innovation are you most proud of?
Virtustant ranked No. 661 on the 2026 Inc. 5000 with 517% three-year growth, our second consecutive year on the list, and Clutch recognized us in its 2026 rankings as a top staffing, HR and recruiting company for the Legal and Real Estate industries. Since 2021 we’ve made 2,000+ placements for more than 1,000 client companies.
This recognition matters because most of what we’ve built is invisible from outside: the scoring model, the vetting funnel, the recruiter workflow. What I’m proudest of is that we measure what our category leaves vague, and publish it. This year we released LATAM Remote Salary Expectations 2026, built from about 30,000 applications across 17 countries.
Looking ahead, what is next for Virtustant? Are there new services, technologies, talent markets, or enhancements in the pipeline that clients should be excited about?
More of what already works. We keep adding roles, especially technical and specialist ones like developers and data and AI roles, alongside the assistant, sales and finance positions that built the company. We’re going deeper by industry, starting with legal, real estate, healthcare and accounting, where clients need people who already know the workflows and the software. And we’ll keep publishing first-party hiring data, so the salary study becomes a yearly reference rather than a one-off.
On the talent side, jobs.virtustant.com is where candidates apply, and keeping that funnel wide is what lets us stay this selective.
If you look beyond today’s achievements, what is the larger vision for Virtustant, and what would you like the company to be known for in the global workforce landscape?
We want hiring a remote professional to feel as safe as hiring locally: the price published, the vetting measured, and a guarantee that doesn’t expire. If Virtustant is known for one thing, I’d like it to be honesty with numbers: what a hire costs, how we choose people, and what happens if it doesn’t work. Talent is everywhere. Trust is what has been missing, and that’s what we’re building. For the professionals we place, it means steady work with US companies without having to relocate.
Meet the leaders behind the success of Virtustant LLC
Erik Reid and Kevin Wright are the Co-founders and Co-CEOs of Virtustant. They co-founded the company in 2021. Before Virtustant, Erik worked as a financial analyst while running an eCommerce business on the side. His own search for a virtual assistant, with placement fees, opaque markups and no accountability after the hire, became the product spec for the company: no fees, transparent rates and a lifetime replacement guarantee. He leads Virtustant from St. Petersburg, Florida, where it is headquartered, alongside a leadership and recruiting team based largely in Argentina. Under Erik and Kevin, Virtustant has made 2,000+ placements for more than 1,000 US client companies and has ranked on the Inc. 5000 in both 2025 and 2026.
