thesiliconreview-brad-moore-ceo-gcac-2018“Our leading-edge data platform pre-qualifies candidates for clinical studies and adds to the streamlining of the approval process.”

In the multibillion-dollar global medical cannabis markets, there is a noticeable lack of regulatory approved medical cannabis products beyond its basic leaf form. The regulatory process to approve cannabis products is slow and inefficient, and it takes substantial time to generate data for product approvals through clinical studies. With over 42 governments globally moving forward with the legalization of medical cannabis, there is a need and an opportunity to fill the medical cannabis data void using advanced technology.

GCAC is a global leader in designing, developing, marketing and acquiring innovative data technologies for the cannabis industry. GCAC presents Citizen Green Platform – the world’s first medical cannabis data marketplace.

The Citizen Green Platform is based on Blockchain and machine learning/AI (Artificial Intelligence) technologies. GCAC enables licenced producers, dispensaries, medical practitioners, end-users of the medical cannabis products and the research institutions to receive predictive actionable insights, based on the analysis of the AI, of data shared by end users, retailers, LPs and research.

GCAC is using its own permissioned business blockchain that solves the security, scaling, privacy and incentive issues. The blockchain is the technical basis of processes of interaction between users of the platform.

The Citizen Green Platform utilizes The Citizen Green Coin (CGC), as a mean of payment and reward mechanism. CGC is the digital device that allows users to use the Platform, exchange information and purchase medical cannabis products. The CGC is a cryptocurrency that is being issued on the GCAC blockchain and all the transactions will be recorded on the permissioned blockchain.

The company was incorporated in 2014 and is headquartered in Vancouver- Canada and operates around the world with presence in Israel, Lithuania, Estonia and Australia.

Brad Moore, GCAC CEO/Director, spoke exclusively to The Silicon Review. Below is an excerpt.

Why was the company set up? And how did you expand your company and its offerings over the years?

We settled to solve the questions about what medical cannabis can do for a person’s health. We quickly realized that there is a massive gap in answers about works and what doesn’t. We also realized that by examining data we could provide answers. The use of technology, specifically AI and blockchain led us to realize we can use this same approach for problems in many industries.

The current market has been focused on growing cannabis and while patients still suffer, however all recognize the need for a community-based platform that will join these forces together. By utilizing Canadian cannabis experience with Israeli technology, we have produced a solution that will have a global impact.

Our vision is to provide better health outcomes using medical cannabis, instead of opioids-based medicines.

A small business/company may or may not function as expected. It takes everything to stand out and compete in the business world, was it the same for your company?

Many companies have looked at this problem and abandoned the attempt to solve it. Much of that was because of limitations of tools to solve it. We have been fortunate to recognize the issue, identify the solution and have the people and tools to do it. We have the first mover advantage.

A small company/business is defined by its core values. What are your company’s core values and how did they help you to succeed?

Our core value is to be flexible and innovative. We know that a problem is worth solving from a human perspective, so we use creativity with technology to solve it. We are determined to provide better healthier and safe cannabis outcomes for those who need it.

How does your company contribute to the competitive global IT platform at large?

Blockchain and cannabis is used already in seed to sale. AI and Cannabis is relatively new but emerging. However, using blockchain and AI to create an interconnected community that educates itself through the commerce of data with each interaction leading to the next healthy outcome is unprecedented.

Do you have any new products ready to be launched?

We are working towards launching our cannabis retailer solution which will provide retailers with actionable and predictive insights which will help them generate an improved experience for their patients in their path to better medical outcomes.

As a question on sustainability, where do you see your company a couple of years from now?

As the company which chose to solve an unsolved problem which moved an industry from the sidelines to center stage. There are many ailments that can be treated with medical cannabis; GCAC will be here to provide those answers and insights.
