In Conversation with Paul Freeman, Founder and Executive Chairman

What kind of mixed responses have you received from your consumers over the years? How have they motivated you to shape your offerings/grow E-Bisglobal?

We always endeavor to gain a solid understanding of every industry and business we work with. An example of an industry whereby our understanding didn’t quite match their wants was the radiology industry. At one stage we were supplying around 500 radiology practices throughout Australia for their print and online needs. We were the first to develop an online system that personalized all referrers, X-Rays and other procedures. However we found that many preferred to stick with the manual version. Listening to the many issues our radiology clients were faced with in terms of apparel prompted us to think beyond the existing services we were supplying them with and solve the issue at hand. And so our Corporate Apparel and Workwear brand was born, a system that revolutionized the ordering and management of work uniforms.

What were the grounds on which you have expanded your company and its offerings over the years?

Our offerings have always been (and continue to be) shaped as a direct result of listening to our clients and responding to their needs and wants. We regard our business as one that focuses on customer service first and foremost. The technology is the tool that delivers a means to an end. We have always been quick to jump on board when new technology becomes available, such as the Internet and cloud based technology.

What do you feel are the reasons behind your product popularity?

Our products are proven, reliable, save our clients time and money, make people’s jobs easier, and have a strong track record backed by the solid testimonials of our clients, including a number of major national organizations.

Do you have any new products ready to be/getting ready to be rolled out into the market?

Our new flagship product, ZOOL is fast developing a reputation within the procurement industry as a prime example of disruptive technology. The cloud-based global procurement product totally redefines the way tenders and panels are managed. ZOOL is capable of managing the procurement for an entire State Government department and delivering hard cost savings of more than 13% as well as substantial soft cost savings. It is a tailored solution that is continuing to evolve almost daily. Another recently rolled out product is QOKKI, a fully customizable event management system for which we recently won a PEAK award. Both QOKKI and ZOOL are leading innovative products, which are driving an exponential growth in both EBIT and revenue within our company.

Where do you see your company a couple of years from now?

We are currently in the process of transitioning to a bespoke software development company, which will stand us in good stead to achieve our goal of introducing our services to international markets. Our vision is to be a leading global supplier of managed services and bespoke software development for medium to large corporate companies and government departments. The projected growth of the company is in the vicinity of 30 – 50% year on year over the next five years. To support this growth, I am committed to expanding the development team locally and offshore. I am very excited about what the future holds for us.

Meet the Master

Paul Freeman, Founder and Executive Chairman: Paul Freeman began his career in IT at a time when automatic data processing and computers were in their infancy. By the age of 38, he was Managing Director of a group comprising four companies and a staff of more than 100.

In 1990, Freeman fulfilled his dream of starting his own business, initially as a simple home-based print brokerage firm called ‘Off and Running Print Management’. Seven years later, he made the strategic decision to focus on the IT side of the business while other print management companies were moving into warehousing. This decision was instrumental in creating a major point of difference from his competitors.

In 2000, Freeman changed the name of the business to E-Bisprint Pty Ltd to reflect its diversification into e-commerce and position the company as an early adopter of this technology. Today E-Bisprint runs six offices in Australia and operates a distribution hub in Asia. And most recently, Paul and his team gave the company a whole new make-over and re-branded the name “E-Bisprint” to “E-Bisglobal Pty Ltd.”
