2016 was an exciting one for MES Inc. with multiple important events taking place in the US and internationally. With a 25% increase in revenue compared to 2015, the number of associates reached 95, 15 more than the previous year. The increase was mainly fueled by the scaling up of the Indian office in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, in India.
MES has always used data analytics as the basis for all its decision making. Market positioning, strategic planning, financial and budgeting processes improvement, associate and client planning, supply chain and inventory management, supplier performance and pricing, and cost reductions are just a few areas where data analytics driven decision making have made MES an industry leader.
The excellent work and efforts of its associates have been recognized this year as well. MES Inc. was honored to make, for the 5th year in a row, the Inc. 500 ranking of the fastest growing companies in the US and to receive, for the 6th year in a row, the Columbus Business First’s Fast 50 Award.

MES Hong Kong serves as a global trading hub for our global operations. Its main activities are:
Regional command and control center: Hong Kong has become the command and control center for both local and international companies interested in sourcing and trading Asian manufactured products.
Strategic position: Due to its geographical positioning, close to one of the largest manufacturing province cluster, 30% of Mainland China’s exports go through Hong Kong.
Ningbo Metrics (China) and Bombay Metrics (India)
MES has extensive supply chain, sourcing, quality engineering and finance teams in Zhejiang province of China (Ningbo) and Tamil Nadu, India (Coimbatore).

Mexico - Metrics Mexico Trading Company
MES has been working hard to consolidate its presence in Mexico. It started shipments to Mexico in the summer of 2011 and by the winter of the same year, it was already warehousing and serving its clients out of Monterrey. Its office, located in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon, Mexico underwent many transformations. The company has continued to add staff including a country manager, quality engineers, warehouse coordinators and sales account managers. In October, 2014 it had acquired its own warehouse in Apodaca with a surface of 7,200 sqm.
With over 40 free trade agreements, manufactured goods representing 80% and automotive related goods 25% of the total exports, Mexico is a growing manufacturing force. Significant investment has been announced by major OEMs creating a demand for quality upstream suppliers.
Focus on Efficiency
MES has several indigenous technology platforms which continue to drive its efficiency and costs. It includes:
MESH PM – project management and APQP / PPAP management database which stores all drawings, and quality documents needed for successful project launch
MESH QM – iOS and Android platform built quality application which allows engineers to report quality updates and issues from factories all over the world. QM also has in-built defect tracking which keeps track of all defects, corrective actions and quality ppm results
MESH CRM – MES developed a CRM which was more catered to its needs and which links all RFQs and opportunities. This was better than Sales force which does not provide APIs to link other systems successfully.

Walk with the legend: Hiten Shah, President
Hiten Shah, Owner and President of MES, Inc. believes that human beings have unlimited potential and he is the living proof. Having started his career as a plastics engineer, he had very little knowledge about overseeing a global supply chain. Fortunately, with experience as key manager, process engineer, engineering manager then director of engineering, Vice President of sales, and director of joint venture sales, he was ready for the challenge.
Hiten received a degree in Plastics Engineering from Bhagubhai Polytechnic in Mumbai and then attended the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He was holding a Master’s Degree by the age of 21. Hiten credits a lot of his success to his wife of 26 years, Heena. MES, Inc. has been ISO 9001:2008 Certified since 2009.
