About the Client

A global leading virtual reality company that has created a number of innovative solutions that will revolutionize how humans interact and controls technology applications.

Background

T&VS was approached by the virtual reality company looking for QA expertise and assistance in delivering their test automation regression pack. The client was moving to an agile/continuous integration development process and wanted an automation framework created to enable this transformation. Also, the client wanted to reduce the amount of time spent managing the software testing.

The T&VS Technical Solution

T&VS proposed a solution with an onsite lead, supported by an offshore automation consultant. First, the onsite lead established and documented the requirements of the automation test strategy. The T&VS consultants worked closely with the client’s development team for the duration of the project creating the automated regression tests using FDD development process, utilizing a Python bespoke framework. Test packs were developed to run on a number of supported platforms to aid flexibility. Each automated test was linked directly to Jira and the implementation source code made clear to the developers.

Meet the Leader

Dr. Mike Bartley, Founder, and CEO: Mike Bartley has a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Bristol University, an MSc in Software Engineering and an MBA from the Open University, and over 25 years of experience in software testing and hardware verification. He has built and managed state-of-the-art test and verification teams in a number of companies (including STMicroelectronics, Infineon, and Elixent/Panasonic) who still use the methodologies he established. Since founding TVS he has consulted on multiple verification projects for respected organizations including ARM and Infineon.

Dr. Bartley is currently Chair of the Bristol branch of the British Computer Society and Chair of the High Tech Sector Group of the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and is a Technical Advisor to the National Microelectronics Institute (NMI).  He has had over 20 articles published on the subject of verification and outsourcing.
