SendGrid: Delivering Your Transactional and Marketing Email through One Reliable Platform

Founded in 2009, SendGrid developed an industry-disrupting, cloud-based email service to solve the challenges of reliably delivering emails on behalf of growing companies.”

Email is the most effective way to build and nurture customer relationships today. Companies that take care to send it at the right time, with the right content, and for the right people will yield a competitive advantage. Headquartered in Boulder, CO, USA, SendGrid is a proven cloud-based email delivery platform delivering more than 22 billion emails per month for internet and mobile-based customers.

The converging mega-trends of a cloud native and mobile first era have created a strong foundation and tailwind for SendGrid’s growth and ongoing success. SendGrid’s founders created a platform that catered to the explosion of the cloud and the increasing adoption of mobile. The company solved a problem for developers around email deliverability and evolved to become a mission critical part of their infrastructure.

SendGrid’s customers leverage its email platform daily so that they can better engage with their 1.5 billion customers to grow their business. The company has grown to support more than 34k customers. The company’s platform lets customers execute and scale both their marketing and transactional email campaigns on one single platform, while connecting with what marketers really care about – driving engagement and business growth.

Delivering Email that Matters
SendGrid is the world’s largest cloud-based email delivery platform. The company’s mission is to deliver customer communication that drives engagement and growth. SendGrid fulfills this mission by
successfully delivering over 22 billion emails each month for over 34,000 Internet and mobile-based customers including Airbnb, Pandora, Hubspot, Spotify, Uber and FourSquare, as well as more traditional enterprises like Intuit and Costco.

With an estimated ROI of $38 for every $1 spent, email is one of the most cost effective ways for businesses to communicate with customers and prospects, yet 20% of legitimate emails never reach the inbox. Transactional and marketing emails engage users and drive growth by confirming account details and order purchases as well as through promotional offers, social alerts and notifications. Each email however, must battle a tangled maze of filters, blocks and traps to reach its recipient. SendGrid eliminates these obstacles by clearing a linear path to the inbox. Through industry-leading inbox delivery rates and the largest support and account management services team in the industry, SendGrid makes the most cost effective way to communicate also the easiest for customers.

SendGrid’s customers include leading mobile and Internet applications such as Airbnb, Pandora, Hubspot, Spotify, Uber and FourSquare as well as traditional enterprises in other industry verticals such as: Costco (retail), Intuit and AutoDesk (software), Seeking Alpha (financial services), CBS Interactive and PR Newswire (media), eBay and
BirchBox (ecommerce).

Growth in the Email Market: There is a strong demand for SendGrid’s platform and this continues to accelerate as the transactional and email marketing markets continue growing rapidly.

Extending its lead in Transactional Email: SendGrid helped create the transactional email market when it was founded in 2009. Expansion into Email Marketing: With the launch of a marketing email solution called Marketing Campaigns in 2015,
SendGrid has an opportunity to upsell its current customers who need to send marketing email and would like to have one platform for both transactional and marketing email. As momentum continues with both existing and new customers,
SendGrid has the opportunity to gain market share in the multi-billion dollar email marketing market space.
