Dr. Randall Oates practiced family medicine in Northwest Arkansas for 26 years. He founded and now serves as the president of Doctor Oates Computer Systems, Inc. (DOCS, Inc.) that is the developer and distributor of the SOAPware EHR, myHEALTHwareTM, and DOCS CPR Services. Over the years, Dr. Oates has become widely recognized within the field for his dedication to the ongoing development of health information technology designed to empower physicians deserving of patient’s trust. Dr. Oates’ efforts have focused on assisting medical practices transition from outdated systems and processes to fresh and timely new models that focuses on collaborative care to empower the doctor-patient relationship. He was also on the Founding Board of TransforMED, the highly respected subsidiary of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), empowered to facilitate practice transformations to PCMH.

He has been a part of cutting edge change management processes at literally thousands of practices. His goal is to promote a grassroots transformation of the healthcare system into one which returns the focus to better-serving patients. Serving in multiple roles, he has been able to not only facilitate practice transformations, but has also served as a liaison to payers, to large health systems, and was honored to serve as an ambassador to assess patient-centric care in several foreign nations.  Most recently, Dr. Oates became one of the first in the nation to receive the esteemed PCMH Content Expert Certification offered by NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance).
