Spilios Theodoratos, BISEES Information Systems CTO, spoke exclusively to The Silicon Review. Below is an excerpt.
TSR – Why was the company set up? And how did you expand your company and its offerings over the years?
BISEES was set up building an innovative solution that combines AI and business intelligence (BI). We are helping our customers collect and manage a large sum of data effectively without wasting their time or money. Our solution has helped us to provide our customers with a system that will allow them to analyze their operations, and get the hidden insight out of their structured or unstructured data.
We expanded our company using the same unique approach of introducing the latest technology. We assured to provide our customers with the solutions that they need and not what they already have. We decided to focus only on the vertical market of financial institutions to solve problems of predicting customer default, fraud detection, churn, improve cross-sell, smartly initiate marketing campaigns and shape strategy. We provide the best tool that they can use for their decision-making, which is very important for their growth.
TSR – What challenges did you face in your initial years?
Our biggest challenge in the early stages was to committing enough money on the marketing of our company.
With the passage of time, we gained experience and knowledge. That is how we became more aggressive with our marketing system.
TSR – How successful was your first project roll on? Share the experience.
Our first project was the banking performance management system. It’s a software that allows banks to monitor liquidity, analyze and identify the customer risks, sell additional services and understand their clients a lot easier this way. To make things more challenging our first project was a new bank in Tanzania. We had to learn the African culture in order to communicate easier with the stakeholders. Feeling that this was more a mission to help the local community, made things more interesting and made us feel that we offer additional value.
TSR – A company’s behavior is as important as its economic performance or the quality of its products. How do you interpret this saying?
We are living in the modern age where customers want to engage with the company’s people before they can invest in the products. The behavior of our company is reliable and engaging. Our customer support team has maintained a user-friendly environment.
TSR – Is it true that striving for both ‘ethics’ and ‘success’ in a business is a tough feat?
BISEES pay special attention to ethical values and assure employees will get the respect and attention they deserve. Our employees are our biggest asset and their comfort is our responsibility. Being ethical and successful shouldn’t be a separate thing. If you go onward with the right business ethics, you can indeed reach greatness. The idea is to know what you are striving towards, what you really want to gain and how you want to achieve those goals. Sure, not all companies will want to do that, but for us, this idea is a top priority.
TSR – If you have to list factors that have been/are the biggest asset to your organization, what would they be and why?
TSR – What do you feel are the reasons behind your company’s reputation?
Our agile approach with reliable product delivery is the reason we have been able to maintain a positive reputation in the industry. In addition, we pay special attention to the instructions shared by our customers; we assure to follow the guideline properly.
TSR – Where do you see your company a couple of years from now?
Currently, we are in the process of transitioning. We want to be a leading big data and performance management company. Our mission is to introduce the services to the international market.
The projected growth of the company is expected to witness 40 to 60 percent jump in the next four years.
